  1. Anthony Bourdain dead at 61 Don't know if anyone else watched and enjoyed Tony's work, but we've watched his shows for years and are saddened by his passing. Not only was the food and places he visited interesting, but it was great when they showed him getting tattooed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Also, if you know someone that suffers from depression and think something is troubling them, please do whatever you can to make sure they're OK.
  2. Those pop up on my IG at times. Hard to believe that a human can do that. Wonder how many "false starts" there are on average for each one completed.
  3. Thanks a lot for the input @SStuand I completely understand your point. I just don't know how I could come up an image(s) that would represent all of us. I was just hoping to hear that I'm not inviting a train wreck lol. Thanks everyone.
  4. Thanks for the thoughts. I really like the general idea, but can't convince myself that it will really work. I know the ultimate answer is go see an artist and get their input. If anyone has a completely different idea(s) of how to accomplish the same thing, I'd really appreciate hearing it.
  5. Wow, @piccalillithose are outstanding! They fit together beautifully.

    Tattoo Peel

I think what everyone will tell you is that's not long enough to consider it healed and that fingers are a bad place for a tattoo to stay looking good. Welcome btw
  7. I'm gearing up to start on my 3rd tattoo... that was going to be my 1st. I know what I want, but in my mind's eye I'm not 100% yet. I'm hoping I can describe it well enough that you kind folks can lend some thoughts or improvements. The placement will be on the lower 2/3 of my upper right arm. (unless of course the artist says it needs to be elsewhere) I would like mine and my wife's 1st initials in script with an & between and our anniversary date above or below. That would be "held" by filigree/scroll work below that connect a heart with our daughter's name and birth date. That in turn would have the same filigree going down to 2 hearts with our grandkid's name and birth dates. I kinda think of it as an inverted family tree. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the design and any suggestions that might improve it. Thanks! John
  8. I agree, it's not bad at all. It's the kind of thing that we view much more critically than anyone else. Chances are 99 out of 100 people would never notice. If all else fails, do what I do. Make up some outlandish BS reason for it being that way and see if you can get them to believe it. lol
  9. Just saw your koi pop up on Smith Street's Instagram page.
  10. Guessing that was supposed to be "in depth". I, being a little afternoon challenged, had to read it a couple times to figure why death would anything to do with the conversation. lol
  11. That is going to be an awesome piece! Enjoy your summer.
  12. That would be great, I'd love to do something like that. That'd be about the only reason I'd what to visit NYC. Hoping you share some pics with us.
  13. I noticed that too, but I thought maybe there was a problem and they might have had to re-upload them. Who knows!
  14. It's another place that I've resigned is beyond my reach in cost and travel, but it's great to dream!
  15. I ran across some well made videos on Youtube by Kings Avenue Tattoo. They're only about a minutes long, but still fun to watch. They don't have many subscriptions, which is a shame since they're so well done. Take a look and see what ya think. Kings Avenue on Youtube
  16. No doubt, indecision and tattoos don't exactly go well together.
  17. I think the mandala fits very well with the rest. To me the mandala mimics the look of a flower with the petals and symmetry, just more of a graphic style. Take your time and live with it awhile.
  18. @Gingerninjalove your new frog! I have a Japanese frog or crane on my "want wish".
  19. @flipcrab85Great eagle. That is also on my list of wants.
  20. My tiger half sleeve was finished on Tuesday. Super happy with it and how well it's healing. Work by Kevin Stress at Enso Tattoo in Columbus, OH. Great artist and shop, would recommend to anyone. Let me know what you think! An action shot with me on the near table. <<<Photos borrowed from the artist's IG>>>
  21. @JasonTOawesome start! Update us with progress please.
  22. That's great. I thought about getting one, but couldn't find anyone that was doing it locally.
  23. I believe that you have to have 10 posts before you can post in other sections. Probably has something to do with control spam, etc. Old one bad apple thing.
