It's not a great drawing. But talk to another artist about your ideas and let him draw it up. Don't even show him what your friend did. Just see what happens.

It's your tattoo in the end, do what you need to to make yourself happy. If everyone else in the world hates it and you love it, that's all that matters.

so go talk to a different artist,or a few.
maybe that artist/tattooer is not the right one for that piece.
