i would say you're lucky to have such a great tattoo... but putting the effort into flying to another country, and booking in with a great tattooer has nothing to do with luck!

hope this is ok to post, i took a picture from a page in 'outlaw biker tattoo revue' from the early 90's that i bought online some months ago.. tattoo by Ed Hardy.

i watched the bert krak, steve boltz, eli quinters, nikki balls, and chad koeplinger ones so many times when they were first put up.. really great videos.

there are certain areas i found (upper arm) that it's more so alot of vibrating rather than pain, well, some pain aswell..

full of spelling errors and freaky goth chicks, 'modern primitives' and shitty tattooers (for the most part). The editorial slant was mostly towards freakishness and "I hate it when people don't accept me for who I am" or tattoos-that-don't-look-like-tattoos bullshit.

yep, this is why i almost never buy tattoo magazines..

grez was one of the first people who's tattoos i was really blown away by. thanks for posting the interview! (i was gonna mention about part 1 aswell, but i presumed it was me not being able to find it or something)..!

+1 on the jodie marsh thing, it was pretty much version 1.0 of the whole 'tattoo school' thing.

also got a message from him this morning saying he's not gonna seek her for an 'apprenticeship' as he got tattooed by her last week and it's all fallen/dropped out.. this is someone who has plenty of perfectly healed tattoo's.

this is by Chad Koeplinger, there's a world of difference between the two.

Are these supposed to be examples of super-aweful tattooing? Hot Stuff looks a little crude, but pics 1 and especially 3 are really bad? Sorta liked the eagle a little. Lines look pretty clean(Its intentionally broken where the wing is highlighted or at least thats how I am seeing it) and shading looks pretty smooth and developed.

I have seen much, much worse in my experience.

yeah, i'd say they're near enough as bad as it gets when it's actually done in a 'studio'..

this is more a potential horror story in the making. one of my best friends of well over a decade wants to be the person responsible for attached tattoo's 'apprentice'.

i've told him this person 'teaching' someone else is like the blind leading the blind, and tattooing doesn't need someone like her, let alone her taking on someone else.. he (friend) knows what good tattoo's look like, he's been tattooed by Eli Quinters, Nikki Balls, Curly, and others.. trying to talk him out of it is pretty much wasting my time though.

somebody said 'arm piece' referring to a tattoo on my arm.. 'tattoo' would have done.
