  1. That tattoos can give you STDs! I just saw this on a tattooist's website.

"Tattooing carries a risk of STDs and other nasty things infecting you, and you wouldn’t want to catch any of those."

If you're getting sexually transmitted diseases from a tattooist, it's not the needle they're sticking you with.

Well, technically this isn't really a myth. If you share needles you could get hepatitis or HIV (both STDs... even though you're not contracting them via sex). This is only a concern if you don't got to a professional, but I know plenty of people who tout that getting tattoos anywhere carries the risk... NOT TRUE. Just go to a professional.

  2. Clothes-wise - I guess simple cotton t-shirts that don't have fibres that might irritate? Any advice on how to stop them sticking?

IMO, there's nothing to be done about the tattoo sticking to clothing. However, I never have this problem after I let the tattoo completely dry out the first 24 hours and not let clothing touch it whenever possible. Obviously, this is impossible for some people, so I'm not sure how they manage or if there is a way. Perhaps re-wrapping the first few days? I know some people on here re-wrap overnight, but I've had some luck with lightly wrapping in bandages (not saran wrap) during the day if I had to go out and cover up.

  3. I'm a PC gamer- no X box or anything. I'll grab B:I on my next payweek :o

I love Elder Scrolls but like solo gaming- not sure if it's worth the monthly subscription if I have to meet up with others online to play for a guild or something, shift work and time diffence would make that impossible

The more I've been reading up on ESO, it sounds like you can play the game solo, should you wish. I believe it can play like a basic RPG (just way more epic of course lol)

  4. Afraid to say this while I appear to be in the company of Gaiman-lovers, but his books have never really knocked my socks off... I think he's a solid writer, but not prolific, which may be personal preference, but I rate that high on my literary needs. I enjoyed The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but I think it is a clear example of how his ideas are so creative, but not fleshed out enough. They always feel like hollow shells of stories after I finish them. Again, maybe it's just my personal taste.

Then again... I have not read American Gods, which every one speaks so highly of.

  5. Infamous: Second Son is so much stupid fun! My husband is playing good and I'm playing eeeevil *muahaha* :)

I have mixed feelings about Thief. I can't put my finger on what I dislike about it, but it's been collecting dust under my ps4 for a month now... Has anyone else tried it?

Not as good as the first, but still, solid from end to end.

So true. I think seeing the whole story/world come full circle was worth it.

  6. @TrixieFaux, I believe it was @Tesseracts? But great idea for sure!

@Pugilist I don't have any brand suggestions since I typically shop at Marshalls/TJMaxx (not sure if you have those stores in Canada), but I usually just look for really elastic ones and order like XL or XXXXXXL haha never buy them at places like American Apparel or Urban Outfitters, they tend to be to flimsy and lack the tightness to stay on.

@SeeSea, I usually wear tops with straps after the first week or two, once its peeled significantly. If I have major scabs ...forget it. And the tanks I have the straps are super thin and sit very light on my shoulders. The important part is the torso of the tank is tight so it holds everything in a bit better than nothing. I have no idea what brand it is either lol ^see above.

@Breakme for the record, I'm so freaking jealous of your work from Emily! Can't wait to see the new piece!

  7. Shit... I just wrote up a whole response to this thread-derailment and lost it trying to post...

    In summary:

    @Zillah *thumbs up*

Let's drop this whole stupid argument.

    I'm tired.

Blah blah blah story about getting my chest/shoulders tattooed.

    Jenkum jokes being passed around.

Proof that professional tattooers can be crude and professional.

    Boundaries blah blah blah.

Just keep getting tattooed and have fun.

  8. This is a great thread! I've been lucky that none of my appointments have landed on that time of the month. I also just can't bring myself to be one of those women that looks ahead on the calendar... haha

For work, I have a lot of cardigans to throw over cute tops and basic long sleeve shirts that are thin enough to wear alone in the summer with a nice necklace or a heavy scarf in the winter. I avoid white and sheer fabrics like the plague.

When I got my shoulders tattooed, I couldn't wear a bra because of the straps, so I bought bandeaus (they hold everything up a little better than strapless bras, which are worthless for "gifted" women like myself) and later in the healing I would wear spandex tank tops (underneath clothes) with thin straps that wouldn't cut into my skin, but were stretchy and kind of hold up the boobs enough. When I couldn't wear a bra at all I would wear big scarves or loose fitting clothing to draw attention away from my chest. Also being in my early twenties helps with going bra-free ;)

Looking forward to other topics that arise, this should be an interesting thread!
