  1. Busy month for me ahead with 3 appointments. Chad Keoplinger, Matt Beckerich and Grant Cobb coming to Ireland and am booked in with em all!! Chad- Big Ed Hardy style panther head stabbed by daggers with couple roses thrown in on my thigh, that'll be big piece! Matt - Either a dagger or a skull. Grant- Not sure, possibly hands, but obviously putting lot of thought into it.

At allstar? Their guest list is fucking stacked in the run up to the london convention!

  2. People who enjoy shitty tattoos, it's usually because they don't know any better, and I leave that be because it will change nothing. However, in my group of friends I try to help them make a good decision, (telling them to stay away from the garbage in this town) but it's a bum feeling when that is perceived as cocky or pretentious. I don't care if you want a giant penis across your chest, at least make sure it's not a wonky penis.

I have a couple of friends who are considering their first tattoos so i've tried to steer them in the right direction as best i can (recommending shops, loaning them books etc). It was difficult at first to explain why their ideas wouldn't work without coming across as condescending, but i think eventually they'll be happy i took the time to warn them off certain things.

I certainly wouldn't approach anyone in the street to offer a negative opinion of their tattoos, but if asked directly i'd try to give an honest opinion without causing too much offence. If that makes me a snob, then so be it.

  3. Walt is teaching some psycho kid with family ties in prison his recipe for cooking meth. Rookie move.

I guess the same could have been said about teaching Jesse, maybe he doesn't have the prison ties but he was using at the time he was learning to cook properly (no chili p, yo!) which certainly makes him unreliable.

  4. Just got booked in for a small one with Deno at the London Tattoo Convention.

I wasn't going to get tattooed there this year but I have no will power.

I'm being tattooed on the Saturday by Ross Nagle (he also tattooed me at the convention last year), are there many LST people planning on being at the convention this year?

  5. I'm sure i saw Chad post that he's taking walk ups at the London convention this year, no advanced bookings.

He did some days at frith street before the convention last year (as well as a few days at allstar in Limerick, if you don't mind a short flight), so with a bit of luck he'll have the same routine this time around.

  6. Worst spot for me personally has been the chest/collarbone area, but i've managed to avoid (either through luck or subconscious fear) most of the areas that seem to have cropped up frequently in this thread.

A lot of it can come down to the tattooer, too. I won't mention names (not that it's a negative), but the 6 hours i spent working on my thigh were a breeze compared to one ~90 minute long tattoo i had done on the outside of my forearm.

I think one thing we can probably all agree on is that pain or no pain, we all keep signing up for more.

  7. In case any of you were still wondering, I have unfortunately not gotten a call to appear as a canvas for this season. My kim jung il pinup doll giving the 'shocker' and wielding a chainsaw will deplorably go unrealized.

Why do i have the sudden urge to commission a painting...

  8. Just followed a couple of people from this thread so i guess i'll make myself known. Instagram name is the same as my username here, a fair amount of my tattoos are on there along with mostly pictures taken while drunk. Ansel Adams i am not!

Don't update much but i'm gonna try and make it more interesting, the london convention in september should be good photo fodder.

  9. Another Frith St. customer joins LST, radicool...thanks for taking the time to not only join the forum but also get tattooed by some of the best putting your money in the right hands! Look forward to seeing your tattoos.........

Don't get me wrong, it took a couple of bad ones before i did what i should have done at the beginning - researched!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

  10. I'm Gareth, 28, from Somerset in the South West of England. Have absolutely no artistic talent or creativity what so ever, so you'll be pleased to hear that i am sticking solely to being the canvas, rather than the brush (or machine in this case).

Most of my tattooing experiences involve a fair amount of travel as i live ~3 hours drive outside of London, but i figure that's a small inconvenience for some excellent work (most of which i get done at Frith Street, by the way).

Been lurking the forum for a while and thought i'd finally sign up to get involved.
