  1. wasn't planning on getting anything at the convention this weekend but had to jump at the opportunity when marina inoue had some free time on my inner wrist
  2. can't help with translations sorry, but any one of the images from yoshitoshi's 28 famous murders with verse are backed hard. i hope to get one of them as a back piece one day
  3. from claudia de sabe
  4. got this from claudia de sabe yesterday: really stoked on how it turned out, and she's light-handed so wasn't as painful as i was expecting
  5. Marina Inoue is the first who comes to mind, have digged her work for a while, guess it's a mix of colour pallet and her general style. Jessica Swaffer, Josh Stephens, Stuart Cripwell, Claudia De Sabe, Robert Ryan, Ichibay, Hiroshi Hirakawa (for his paintings as well of course) etc. etc.
  6. slayer9019, i saw you have one of yoshitoshi's pieces as your avatar. have you checked out the whole of his series of 28 famous murders with verse? beautiful and brutal, my favourite series of prints easily. i hope to one day get an adaptation of the one i posted (naosuke gombei ripping off a face) or one of the others from the series as my back/butt piece
  7. a dry heal with a re-wrap the first 2/3/4 nights (depending on the size of the tattoo) has always worked really well for me. stops the gunk from healing into raised scabs and it all washes off with ease in the morning, i also move a lot in my sleep so it stops the fresh tattoo from getting rubbed all over the sheets. then i let it breathe throughout the day time, washing 2/3 times during the day, sometimes i'll use a tinyy amount of bepanthen if its looking too dry/feels a bit tight. once its a week or so old i also start to use a bit of coco butter on it, seems to really help with the colours but it might just be me being biased caus i love the smell of it
  8. toyokuni III/kunisada yoshitoshi. probably my all time favourite ukiyo-e piece i'm sure most people here are familiar with their work, but these two (along with kuniyoshi and hokusai for their monster/yokai based works) are among my favourite artists and i spent alot of my time at art school doing work heavily influenced by them. hoping to start seriously collecting more ukiyo-e prints when the £££ allows it
  9. that was really cool. glad the chap that had brought the items in knew more than the antiques expert and corrected him a few times
  10. favourite one so far. loved seeing bits from hiroshi hirakawa too, love his paintings
