  1. Aside from the fact that many prefer aged tattoos...I think that in a way tattoos make the skin appear more youthful? Idk but somehow it draws my attention away from the wrinkles. Jeez and I wasn't even planning to get a ton done...but if it distracts from wrinkles...who knows. :p
____ Mostly I like how certain tattoos look visually. I can modify my own look according to my taste somewhat with tattoos (or piercings). Second would be the meaning, whether it be and event in my life or something that I am passionate about.
  3. Welcome! I can relate to taking care of a baby. In pregnancy and after tattoos weren't possible for me. It was a really long wait because of breastfeeding too and finances needed to be taken care of.
  4. Moisturizers increase water in the first few layers of the skin, but that can result in too much water and in turn can be drying. Certain oils like Coconut oil has molecules that are small enough to easily penetrate skin and/or hair. I like the idea of combining moisturizer with oil though but am wary of certain moisturizers because it seems too much water inside the skin could also lead to a tattoo aging faster.
  5. I do like the look of both, but I feel it would not be suitable because it is anglo saxon. I have tried Anglo Saxon runes, but runes aren't very flowy so I was thinking about a not too fancy, handwritten script. Maybe even my own handwriting if possible because it would be more personal.
  6. Any future woman will definitely appreciate that attitude. :) It doesn't matter what the men think because they won't be in a relationship with you haha. Breakups of all sorts are hard. It is perfectly natural to feel horrible for some time, to still hope. It will get better naturally.
  7. Just wanted to add something to the "sleep around" advice. If you plan to be with a female in the future, which I assume, keep in mind that many aren't fond of a man having slept around just like a man would not prefer that their future woman slept with a lot of guys. Just to add a different perspective.
  8. Eat something with lots of fresh garlic it fights infection. And if you can get your hands on grapefruitseedextract from a health store you'll improve within less than a day. It is a natural antibiotic without the side effects. But it might be hard to find in a regular store...I order online.
  9. Welcome! How is the attitude towards tattoos in Japan nowadays? Considering that many connect it to Yakuza and entering a bath house with tattoos isn't permitted.
  10. Which reminds me that my nape tattoo healed faster than hands it seems. I will see how future tattoos heal.
  11. Hm...I wonder if what I'm doing is right now. First tattoo I was told to let it dry and leave it alone. But the crust became so dry and thick it eventually fell off and much of the ink came out..this was not a good tattoo, very scarred and I got it touched up. My other tattoos were wrapped for a few hours and kept moist so no thick crust could really form. I only rinsed them in the shower with water agter one day but not touching. I reapplied the creme with panthenol every few hrs when the tattoo felt dry. My tattoos seem to heal well and fast without losing much ink...?
  12. Oh yeah, I'll ask for sure. Just wanted to get a second opinion here!
  13. I agree with Bunny Switchblade. I have a few handtattoos and I knew they were tricky and might fade or the lines won't be as clean. But I'm fine with it. I just love them personally. Fingers do fade more so that one I'm not sure about. I was wondering if maybe certain designs will last better than others. What about the three small dots for example? I can imagine it would be easier to ink and make it last. Or more simple lines and symbols. I have researched finger tattoos and some fade and blur very much, others don't. It puzzles me a little.
  14. Two days ago my son felt like cleaning off my tattoos... So he said "I'ma get you wipeee mommy for you tutu..". He kept rubbing and rubbing and could not understand why it wasn't coming off ;)...continually staring at the wipe in disbelief.
  15. I see...so taking a printout from dafont.com is not really advised? ^^
  16. I guess there is no way of knowing really. When I got it done the artist said he is using a new black ink that lasts longer and stays black longer...so maybe this tattoo will really surprise me.
  17. I plan to get my first lettering tattoo soon (the anglo saxon rune poem in my signature), but I'm wondering what type of script would be best for something as small and delicate as possible. I just want something very "lightweight" on my collar bones. I'm not sure my handwriting is a good idea. I don't really want something too fancy like Edwardian Script..maybe even with a Celtic touch. Can anyone help? I drew the poem on myself in the picture the way I imagine it ..just the writing not as shitty.
  18. Yeah I keep telling myself that I need to like it not others ;) I'm sure by age 70 it will be an actual blob of ink.
  19. Hm...to be honest...all these people passing judgement so easily, I would not want to be on good terms with them anyway. What you are experiencing imho only filters the good people from the judgemental shallow assholes. So you don't need to waste your energy on them. More time for the good people. As far as a job goes, we all need money to survive, but how much do we really need to be happy? I used to work in a well paid job in Manhattan, but that wasn't my world and instead of selling my soul I now work a simpler job. Less money, more peace and happiness. Even without that many tattoos I have been sort of a loner all of my life. I guess I come across as a weirdo to people naturally...I really don't know. But my experience is the mainstream usually avoids me but if I do make friends in the right places (Goths, Metalheads, Medieval Reenactment), people absolutely love me. Quality friends over everyone liking you and the image you have.
  20. Haha...I think beer, drugs and hookers is avoiding to face the suffing too. Seems a bit too Emo to me.
  21. I agree with lots of distraction like work and hobbies...and of course going out with friends, even a club and some drinks to just let lose a little and get rid of tension... If she calls it a break she needs time to think also...in which case I think it is best to keep distance. I hope things will be well!
  22. Dark Hippies ? :D It's a possibility..there are so many theories out there it makes my head spin sometimes. All interesting but then there are some really frilly stories about angels etc. that just sound too fairytale- ish :D But then again.. weird stuff I have experienced for myself. I'm just not so quick to paint a colorful picture. I think a demon can represent both. The whole "Angels are good" and "Demons are bad" thing is more of a modern religious view I suppose. A demon could look pretty awesome as a tattoo with all the detail and shading.
  23. Well maybe it wasn't said the best. English isn't my first language. But what you describe sums it up and it is in Hermeticism also. So many assume that what is perceived as demons etc. is negative energy that vibrates at a certain frequency and picked up by certain individuals only because of their vibration. Although this doesn't explain why some people see actual manifestations...or what is described at Ghost Forums.
  24. You should look into the occult then. There is lots of research regarding supernatural things, backed up by some scientific proof though I have to say what some refer to as a demon or spirit for example, to researchers is energy that can be measured using machinery, that can cause a tear in the matrix if someone dies a gruesome death for example... So while I don't believe in classic Angels and Demons..it is interesting to read that unexplained phenomenons exist.
  25. @UglyButProud Wow...when I started reading your story I was like "that is what real love is supposed to be like"...you know, against all odds and differences. I hope she will come around and accept your tattoos...share your thoughts with her just like you wrote here. She must understand.
