Seems like you got your answer! What are your ideas for your next tattoo @Colored Guy?
-
Welcome! Be sure to check around the forum and the gallery to get inspiration and to see other members tattoos.

Welcome, do you have any tattoos at all?

8 hours on my ribs with one 30 minute break to eat. It hurt pretty bad, but I was still able to hold conversations during it. And yeah I also forgot about the pain after a couple days.
Sounds rough, don't think I could sit that long. Still waiting for that shishi pic btw :p

Welcome! 'Ryukoi' is a great Japanese tattoo. If you going to make it into a bigger piece then I suggest maple leaves for the background. It's a great combination!

You can find it on his facebook page.

I am new here and new to tattoos. Curious, are there other good tattoo forums that are popular for the other styles ?
This forum is great for all tattoo discussion, that was just an observation on my part. If you are new to tattoos then you are already in the right place.

Thanks all. It was a tough session and it always perks me up to get your compliments, haha.
I'd say the worst part about sitting is the actual action of either sitting down or standing up. Like ironchef says, the spot gets pretty swollen so, to me, the constant pressure while sitting is comfortable
How many hours are you into your back piece now mate?
-
@passive jay. He means American traditional, it's the most popular style on this forum, so other styles don't get the same attention. That's really nicely done though and looks as though you like your futurama tattoos! The objection to the white, is because solid white tends to turn a slight yellow after the time an doesn't hold up so well, some artists use it, some only use it for highlights.

Yeh I exfoliate twice a week in preparation for being tattooed, once the night before, makes the skin soft.
I do shave my arms with a blade every so often, which I suppose is enough to remove dead skin cells long term.
-
I think I would stay away from an exfoliating scrub because they are designed to remove dead skin cells and it's best to let the flaky tattooed skin fall of naturally not forcefully to avoid pulling ink out.
Sorry I wasn't clear there. I meant for long term care.

Does anyone else have absolutely no healing problems at all?
Within 48 hours all the swelling is gone, after the third day no real pain, fourth day is pealing, skin remains slightly sensitive to touch. 5-6 days starts to settle in and then by the seventh day feels like it did before I had it done.
A simple routine of washing with plain white soap 3 times a day followed by bepanthen. Then after 7 days back to washing with regular shower gel, cocoa butter once a day at night as a long term moisturiser.
The only thing I'm not sure on is if I should be using an exfoliating scrub on my tattoos..

That's the idea :D

sorry, im new and didnt realise why raising price may be an issue.. the resulting discussion has illustrated why not rather nicely...
brings out the trolls who automatically assume because your tattoo costs more than theirs that I think im better than them..
Don't be sorry, you haven't done anything wrong mate. I didn't even think you were literally referring to the price of your tattoos, however, the price is irrelevant. You got the ink you deserve because you put the effort in. Why not forget that topic and show us some of your tattoos, I am sure they are quite impressive. Cheers.
-
Prices are subjective anyway, if that's the artist you want most, then you got to pay his prices. Respect for putting in such effort to get the work you want.
-
Welcome! Would love to see that Karajishi, any pictures?
-
Even my dogs are tattooed. Sorry for the inside ear pic.

Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose anyone can get a better look at what is wrapped around the bottom of these sleeves? I love old school Japanese pictures.
On another note I have decided to leave my sleeves as they are, I don't want to ruin the composition of what I have.
I do love the look of the Juzu beads though, so will be concentrating on getting them incorporated around my neck when I get my chest and back done. Thanks for the input!
-
Treated my elbow ditch same like any other part. Wash with mild soap and use Bepanthen for 7 days, then switch to cocoa butter. Always wear loose, clean, cotton shirts.
Any pics of your sleeve?

Welcome. What kind of art are you interested in?

Just checked out his work. That's going to be one very nice piece for sure. Look forward to seeing how that turns out!
