Help choosing tattoo style please

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping you could help me choose the best tattoo style for my design.  I want to get the attached tiger as a large chest piece and I wasn't sure what style would suit it best.

The design is originally by an artist called Android Jones.

I do need to get the design in black and grey as I have Asian brown skin so unfortunately colour wouldn't work. :(

I would like a style to capture as much of the detail on the design as possible.  I was thinking of going for an illustrative style or just black and grey but any advice would be much appreciated as I am struggling to decide.

I will be getting just the tiger and not the background,

Many thanks in advance, Pras

That piece doesn't really fit into any particular style aside from neo-traditional, which is a broad term used when any artist's personal style is varied off of one or more other styles. There is a lot of Japanese in there, but the artist has taken it off into a new direction.

You're going to have to find an artist whose style you like and let them do their own interpretation.

    • To lessen the appearance of rough skin after healing, once the scab has fallen off naturally, use cocoa butter. Putting it on in the morning and at night for the next few months helps your skin stay nourished to return to normal. It was definitely overworked, but scabbing in itself is not a bad thing. Heavy scabbing has a lot to do with how you care for the tattoo in the first 24-48 hours after getting a tattoo.
