Thanks @Mark Bee and @Devious6! I have emails out to a few folks. I doubt I'll get in with someone that I want but it never hurts to ask, right? I'm there for the entire duration since I'm in Philly the week before and have to be in Virginia the following Monday. Light a candle for me.

Hey Rose, please wait. I can empathize with your desire to get a memorial tattoo for your sister. Please realize that your may be asking an artist to break the law. There's nothing cool about that scenario. Wait until you can find a great artist that can do a proper tattoo. If you post photos of a tattoo and heaven forbid that someone puts together that you are under age, that's a pretty crappy position that you just places everyone in - you, your parents and the artist. Do you really want to do that?

Oooo...what's the bigger tattoo and are you on his/her list yet? I'd invite you to consider getting something bigger if you are serious about dipping your toe in the water. There is so much good info on this forum and check out the photos in the gallery, too!

Sorry, buddy but my thought is that you can do better. You found a forum that has a tag line of "Get Good Tattoos". This is a passionate group of people who have invested 1000's of hours in their art and 10's of 1000's of dollars in tattoos. Plus, most folks have tattoos that they regret. You have a great body - put something badass on it. @Rhythm

Welcome! One of the first things you'll notice about this group is that lots of us tend towards bigger tattoos. So, I'm going to say go bigger, bolder and on the ribs. Back of the arm is prime real estate...save it for another tattoo. My two cents.

You know those nasty orange slice jellies? Yeah, those. I power munch those. I only eat them when getting tattooed. They are delicious and when they stick in your teeth, it gives you something else to think about.

Thanks for the kind words! My brother is a more than a piece of work @oboogie. Our families never make it easy on us when they don't approve of the choices we make. You can choose your friends but not your family, right? My brother can pound dirt. My mom, I'll love to the end of her days regardless of her perspective. I would assert that having tattoo's have made me more empathic, kind and tolerant. Lessons a lot of people could use. I can't control them but I can control me.

Tell her that you love her and hug her when you can. Oh, and maybe not post any more photos. :) Side note: None of my family approves of my ink. When my brother gets mad at me he calls me a "tattooed white trash whore". I, too, have multiple degrees and a great job. My strategy is to kill them with kindness. You most likely can't/won't change her mind but don't let that impact you being an awesome, loving daughter.

And it's not for me! :) Dry healing was problematic for me...took ages to heal. Never again.

Cool concept but I do echo the concern of the community. I think primarily because so many people have tattoo's that they hate and the end result is that it impacts their lives in a negative way. You say that you've been always been involved in the body modification community. Tell me more...
