  1. Fuck that bitch. She straight up traced people's work and called it her own. Just 'cause she's a girl doesn't mean she can't have her fingers broken too.
  2. 3. You should tell him what you just told us and see what he thinks would be cool!
  4. you know back in the day, renaissance painters had their students paint copies of their works
  5. Totally serious, ladies' versions of those pants are extremely popular for spring/summer 2012. Like skin tight ones made from spandex. I've been seeing them at all the trade shows and on all the cool fashion blogs. I kind of want them but I'm Canadian and will feel like a fraud.
  6. I learned how to draw banners, roses and other staple 'old school' images by tracing, redrawing, painting and embroidering a lot of Rollo and Jerry flash. Currently I'm working on re-doing (in hand embroidery and paint) the classic black and white Rollo sheets. Right now I'm on the 'odds and ends' sheet. It's the same size as the original. Entire outline is hand embroidery and the colour is a mix of embroidery and painting.
  7. @Kev Hahhahahahahahaaa Holy fuck I'm gonna miss Canada when I move back to the USA in a few months eh. I hate to admit it but I have a strong feeling my pronunciation of "holy fuck eh" sound a lot like the guys on this video......
  8. I'm the type to just lay in bed and toss about until I finally fall asleep. I think it was Kev who said working out helps him sleep, I find the same. Days I works out I sleep a lot easier.
  9. I fully support the notion of you wearing Rex Kwan pants to the gym and to non-gym places. If someone knows where to acquire such pants, please fill us in.
  10. Ah Stewart, our 'explains things so people can actually understand" guy strikes again! Thanks man.
  11. He means telling customers how getting paid as a tattooer normally works. That you don't get all the money, the shop and buying your supplies takes most of it. In reply to post #10
  12. Tibet is part of china I believe, and china is right beside japan pretty much..... There seems to be a lot of similarities in Japanese and Chinese folklore and art. I don't recall having seen any really old Japanese tattoos with Tibetan skulls. Maybe it's just a newer thing that people getting modern Japanese style tattoos are adding just because they like the image or meaning. Not everything in modern Jap style tattoos are technically supposed to be there according to Japanese art history.
  13. There is no fresh I advice because it's not a fresh problem. Any time in story that two people have been offering the same service in the same area, this has come up. I'm not a tattooer but I've had the same problems being a visual artist. Other people (and it's always people who claim to respect you love your work) copy your style or technique and do it poorly, then sell it for a quarter of the price. In the end the idiots who buy the poor quality work, if it's a tattoo or a carpet, will regret it. There is always a reason why one thing is more expensive then the other, often this reflects the quality or authenticity of the item. Not always, but often. I find it to be a little funny that you, Shannon, would post this though. I'm saying this because I recall you sending me an unsolicited private message one day with hints on how I could sell more artwork. Your idea was to sell my artwork for $25. Sorry dude but this sounds exactly like the person who wants a sleeve for $50.
  14. in my experience ingrown hair wreck havoc on tattoos. I have a larger tattoo in an area that gets a lot of ingrowns, there's holes all over the tattoo now because of them. Since they are coming from deeper in your skin than the tattoo ink is, if your hair is very corse it can push the ink right out of the way in it's journey upwards. I've looked into lots of options for stopping this. Basically the only thing that seems viable for me is electrolysis hair removal, it is safe to go over old tattoos and doesn't make getting new ones any different, it's also the only permanent method. Laser hair removal ruins existing tattoos and is not permanent. Shaving the area will cause even more grown in hairs generally. Waxing can be useful but it's painful and has to be done pretty regularly and still won't fix the problem in all cases. Other than that you can make a point not to wear tight fitting course fabrics for pants, so no emo kid skintight jeans. You could try exfoliating with a gritty lotion or wash, or by using one of those shower puff things and your normal soap. I'm assuming you are a guy, and therefore don't want hairless thighs, so I guess if I was you I'd give daily exfoliation a try and see what happens. Generally keeping your skin free of sweat and dirt should help too.
  15. @capcanada the main difference is the clam flavour in the clamato.. gives it this distinct taste.. i've tried cesars and bloodies in all kinds of places and no matter what you do, without the clam it's not the same! the tomato beer sounds interesting. i love tomatoes and beer is alight too...
  16. kind of, bloody marys to me are more like a shit version of a Ceasar. I think Ceasars are better. It's Clamato juice which you don't have in some parts of the USA. Clamato is a tomato juice flavoured with clam juice. Then you add vodka, horseradish, tobasco sauce, rim a tall glass with celery salt add ice, garnish with typically a stalk of celery but it's amazing with a piece of pickled asparagus. It's like a bloody mary with but a lot more flavour and heat.
  17. I forgot about lambic. love it!
  18. Or stick with what she's doing and become her generations Sarah Palin (or other equally as embarrassing female 'rope model') If she thinks tattoos are bad I wonder how she feels about gay marriage hahahahaha
  19. the only flavoured beer i've liked was a Raspberry wheat beer that when drank in large enough quantities makes your pee smell like berries..... i am a fan of flavoured rolling papers and blunt wraps as well... other than that i agree with the others, no flavoured weirdness... pizza beer sounds kinda gross, why not just drink a Ceaser or Bloody Mary as they call it in the USA
  20. Hey guys, I figure someone here must know a little (or a lot) about web site building. I've been trying to put together an e-commerce site using Wordpress coupled with the WP e-commerce plugin, upgraded to gold cart. Currently I'm using Tribeca e-commerce for my theme. I've managed to work out most of the kinks but am still having trouble with my products page. I have a feeling the problem I'm having has a simple fix, I just don't really know much about coding. Basically here's the issue: When I click on 'shop' in my main nav bar it takes me to a page that displays the categories of merchandise. For example 'shirts' 'jewelry' 'pants' etc. When I click 'shirts' logically it should take me to a page displaying all the shirts for sale. Instead it just loads the same page showing the categories again.... No matter what I do. I'm not sure if I've got something on the wrong setting in Wordpress, or if this is something that needs custom coding added. You can go to the live version of the site Dark Moon Boutique and see what I mean if you'd like. I'm getting frustrated after three days of searching for answers... If anyone thinks they can help me fix this problem please email me or send me a private message. I can pay someone a little bit of money, depending on how large of a job this is, we'll chat. [email protected]
  21. HOLY. SHIT. As soon as I heard her say 'about' I was like wow this must be Canadian, then the huge flag background a few seconds later proved it. Now I'm a little paranoid that I sound like her...
  22. I hope none of you dudes here are trying to look like that Lee guy! To me that's a little excessive and unattractive. I guess to each his own though. Thanks for all the tips and stuff you guys posted for me! I've just gotten home from being out of town so I'm gonna try out some new things when I get back to the gym this weekend. I'm thinking I might try and up the weight on some things and lower the reps, see how that goes for a bit. As far as tattoos and competing I always heard that being heavily tattooed made it harder to see muscle definition when you're on stage. Any truth to that?
  23. Yeah so her article talking about how everyone took her original one out of context. Bullshit. She's still an idiot who thinks being skinny and wearing cool clothes is gonna make her happy. There's a poll included in the article "has your opinion of Lisa changed after reading this" 90% of people said NO. She claims no one discussed her POV and just insulted her. I'm pretty sure in this thread alone 3-6 people quoted directly from her article with direct responses, that makes me think that a lot of other people probably did too. Shannon's right, her rebuttal should have been called "19 year old runs her mouth". I wish I could walk down the street with her just to prove how many more heads get turned at the sight of my tattooed attractive self then they do at her. Wearing fancy jeans and doing your hair isn't what dudes like (at least not the smart ones who are looking for more sex). What really gets you a man, or a job, or self esteem is being confident in yourself. Maybe your confidence does come from shopping at the mall and getting your nails done. But guess what, a lot of women find confidence in themselves without all those things. Many women find their self confidence through their intelligence, through their family, their job, their education, their art. I'm sure she'd be shocked to hear a lot of women find their confidence through getting tattooed. Or what about a woman like our own board member Deb or Valerie, who are making a living and supporting themselves and in Deb's case her children through tattooing? I'd say it's a fuck of a lot more respectable to be someone like Deb who owns her own business and raised I believe 5 children and has kept up what seems to be an amazing marriage, then to be some bimbo married to a rich guy who spends her days shopping and getting her hair and nails done. Tattooing has supported me and my fiancé, has given me more opportunity to travel, meet new friends, be inspired, sell my artwork and live a happy life. Oh and the fact that she doesn't mention one thing about men getting tattooed...
