  1. Based on the threads posted here by newbies, a lot of artist do a terrible job educating their clients. My artist told me early on to look at the big picture. I love my tattoos and I never look at them under a microscope.
  2. Don't look at it under a microscope. Seriously. No tattoo is perfect. Your skin isn't a piece of paper. There's nothing wrong with that tattoo, but I would seriously evaluate your expectations. I don't mean this in an unkind way, but if you are expecting perfection, don't get any more tattoos because you'll never achieve it. Step back and look at the big picture, you have a nice tattoo, I'd just enjoy it.
  3. Any tattoo can have blowouts. Thinner skin and older skin are more prone to them, even the best artists have them. Do you have any pics?
  4. At 5 weeks, that's long enough to know if it's a blowout or not. I don't see it myself, but once you see it you can't unsee it. It's a nice looking tattoo, I'd just enjoy it. Trying to fix blowouts makes them worse often as not. The ink is under the skin, you can't move it or take it out, you can only try to cover it up.
  5. Just because the stupid phuckwad's first unintelligible post is shilling his $hitty web site doesn't mean he's a spammer ... does it???
  6. I would suggest finding a good tattoo shop. They should have lots of Halloween appropriate flash to choose from. Or, you could google Halloween Tattoo. I'm sure lots of references would come up. Good luck!
  7. This is not a forum for scratchers. This is a forum for tattoo enthusiasts. Please read the forum rules. No questions on HOW to tattoo.
  8. People do it all the time. Get what YOU like, it’s your body.
  9. @Dangave good advice. It takes 4- 6 weeks to heal, longer if it went in rough. If it itches, you might try a cold pack, but DON’T scratch it. Good luck.
  10. Are you a new moderator? I didn't think so. Maybe you think that 14 posts in a year and a half gives you the right to set rules for the forum? Read what was written, "Kept finding conflicting stuff online regarding keeping it moisturised" Not sure how that translates into some kind of reasoning that he should drown it. Also, there is a handy ignore feature on this forum. If you don't like my posts, please feel free to use it.
  11. No need to cop an attitude. You posted something ridiculous and got called on it.
  12. I’ve never seen anyone, anywhere suggest that you drown your tattoo with lotion.
  13. I can't tell from the pics, but it takes 4-6 week to heal a tattoo, longer if it went in rough. Nothing you can do until it heals, so just enjoy your favorite adult beverage or edible and chill out. Worst case scenario is you have it touched up.
  14. Yes, I read about it. There isn’t a single scientific study that supports that. It’s the same ink that’s used in America. I’ll say again, if there was anything toxic about that ink, with 66 MILLION tattooed people in America, we’d know.
  15. If tattoos were toxic, with 66 MILLION people in the US alone having tattoos, we’d know by now.
  16. Man, do NOT go back to that guy. That looks like you were tattooed with a jack hammer. I'm not saying it to be mean, but you need to educate yourself about tattoo artists and find someone who knows what they are doing.
  17. There isn't a scar, it's just a picture and a suggestion.
  18. Have the artist incorporate the scar into the tattoo.
  19. First, don’t use numbing cream, it’s just really weak. https://www.ocweekly.com/jack-rudy-on-tattoos-stigma-and-why-its-good-they-hurt-6459877/ Have you tried putting a cold pack on it? Advil or Tylenol for the pain. I didn’t have a problem with either of my leg ditches, but some people do. They can just take a long time to heal, especially if you artist is heavy handed.
  20. It also has nothing to do with the OP’s question. It was about hand poke tattoos, tattoos on your hand.
  21. Like @oboogie said, you’re drowning that poor tattoo. You are supposed to use just enough moisturizer to keep it from drying out, too little is better than too much. Or you could just dry heal, as @oboogie recommended. At this point, I’d give it at least one day with NOTHING on it.
  22. This is not a site for questions about HOW to tattoo. It’s a site for tattoo enthusiasts. Advice - don’t be a scratcher - get an apprenticeship and learn the right way.
  23. Great advice. People think “it’s just a simple tattoo, it’s anyone can do it” when the reality is, as you pointed out, there’s no way to hide mistakes.
  24. I would just get what you like and not worry about what other people are going to think. They won't mean anything to other people, it's only important what they mean to you, if you're into that. None of my tattoos mean anything to me other than I like the images.
