Hard to tell from the picture. We aren’t doctors, but in general, symptoms of ann infection are if it’s hot, red, oozing, extremely painful, bad smell. If it’s just red, you’re probably OK.

the only person to ask for that info will be the tattooer you choose to do the work,
it depends on how big, where it's going, etc etc,
you also need to research tattooers that do that style, making sure that tattooer is good,
once you find the right tattooer, setup a consultation to talk in person about your idea, it's a process,

It'll be fine. I had an infected tattoo once, and it was nothing to do with the artist. After antibiotics, I got it touched up a few months later, and it is fine.

They're not up to the standard i've seen on here but one of them is of a paper aeroplane.
I'm thinking of adding to it whilst still keeping it fairly simple. Any suggestions?

About 24 hours into this. Fully outlined to the bottom of my butt and the background is almost done. Moving into the flames soon! Enjoying the process.

Going this week to get my knee touched up, some small tattoos to fill in my legs, and some stars and dots. I haven't been to see my friend/tattoo artist Josh in over a year, so I'm looking forward to it!

I don't know how well that will hold up, especially if you don't find an artist that has serious skills. I would try to make that less ... busy? There's just too much happening. Way too much.

I use Kiehl's lotion on mine. No issues. 
You are overthinking it.

Good idea. If there is an issue, you can always get it touched up. Have a drink, or your favorite unprescribed pharmaceutical and relax.
