  1. Gonna get some Juan Puente lettering done this weekend. I pretty much have zero lettering on me, so this'll be exciting to add.
  2. I'm in the same boat as you. I just had other surrounding pieces B&G too. Worked out fine so far. - - - Updated - - - I've been into Michael Bennett's (FTW Tattoo Parlor, Oakland) stuff lately. The way he combines this style with Japanese is pretty rad.
  3. Just scheduled an appointment with Eli Quinters while he's in Oakland. STOKED! - - - Updated - - - Juan Puente does some really good script too. I like Sonju's script from Tattoo 13 too. I'm sure he learned from the best.
  4. Truuuuuuuue, I already have an eagle on my elbow. Sounds like webs for my other elbow. Decision made! Thanks, haha.
  5. Both pieces are rad. I really like that filler on the tiger arm.
  6. I'm debating whether to go the @hogg route and get Scott Sylvia to fill that weird spot, or to get spider webs that scream "I'm an elbow..." Decisions, decisions.
  7. Dude I need this new album!
  8. Nice one! I tried getting an appointment but he was fully booked. Super jealous!
  9. Fine, I'll postpone the knee ditches and get my elbow done. Wait, fuck! I'll get my other knee done. Wait, aww fuck. Pretty much only shitty spots are left on the limbs.
  10. Here's what works for me: - Get tattooed. Keep wrap on overnight. - Wake up, wash tattoo in shower. - After shower, apply very thin layer of Aquaphor once for three days. - On fourth day, after shower, use unscented lotion sparingly. Repeat final step every day until healed.
  11. HAHA, I bet you're right. And just like you, I'm planning on getting my knee ditches tattooed next!! Fuck!
  12. Yeah, those are actually nice tattoos. Maybe that makes me a hipster. Fuck.
  13. My philosophy as of today: collect from Bay Area tattooers and guest spotters working in the Bay Area. I used to love traveling to collect. But then it hit me... instead of paying for hotel and airfare, why not use that money for more tattoos? I have more than a handful of amazing tattooers that are pretty close by. Even though some of my favorite artists are in NYC (Grez, Regino, Boltz, Santoro, Albrigo), the plan is to try to catch them if/when they guest spot in The Bay. If I was working on a Japanese body suit, more than likely I'd stick to the same artist. That Cripwell bodysuit is still amazing to me. I wish that's how I started... I do want Jason Phillips to work on my front. But I would love it patchwork style with a chest, stomach and filler pieces all done by the same artist.
  14. I'm healing a lower leg tattoo right now. I walk with a slight limp because of it, haha. So far the healing is pretty normal for me. I still say the worst places to heal are ditches.
  15. Sorry, there's a little wrap around. He's actual pointing at my chola! Miguel "Uzi" Montgomery guest spotting at Tattoo 13 in Oakland, CA. If he were local, I'd get tattooed by him all the time. Anyone within driving distance to Long Beach needs to get tattooed by Uzi. Such a nice dude. - - - Updated - - - @dooktruck that Rassier tattoo is so good. He's on my short list of local tattooers I still need to get tattooed by (Jeff Rassier, Scott Sylvia, Jason Phillips, etc.)
  16. Nice one. If they keep doing it monthly, I'll be back every month. I was gonna wait for Rassier, but went with Cody instead.
  17. Tim Lehi flash by Cody Miller. Blackheart Tattoo, Sunday Walk-In Day. SF, CA. (For those that really don't know)
  18. HAAAAA I wish I could do both. BTW, really nice collection you got.
  19. Debating whether to put a deposit down at Skull & Sword or go to Blackheart on Walk-In Sundays... Tough life.
  20. Out of all my tattoos, I've only asked for a redraw once. The artist had a border around the design, and I'm not into borders. When I first saw the design, I was a bit hesitant and said that everything looked good. As the artist was walking away, I decided to speak up and say I wasn't into the border at all. The artist told me why they wanted the border, but I held my ground. It's gonna be on you forever, so you have the right to speak up. We eventually came up with a design that we were both into. But typically with all my tattoos, 9 times out of 10 I love what the artists drew up. You gotta pick your artist wisely. - - - Updated - - - I don't necessarily care about tattoo artists liking me, per se. But I do want to have some kind of common ground with my tattoo artist as well. Not looking for BFF's, but someone I can comfortably shoot the shit with.
  21. For a full sleeve dragon tattoo, I would go see Bill Canales. - - - Updated - - - @Graeme that Stan Corona tattoo though.... THOSE PINKS. WOW.
