  1. Don't forget about Great Wave (Jason Brooks and Ben Siebert) and Perfection (Chris Trevino) also in Austin, TX.
  2. Sometimes reading posts about your awesome tattoos fills me with a jealous rage...
  3. My four words are: Clean, Bold, Awesome, + (body part where the tattoo is)
  4. 3/4 is definitely the maximum length for me because I like being able to cover up and even with long sleeve shirts a full sleeve would peek out when I extend my arm. Saving full sleeves and hand tattoos for when I'm old and retired... - - - Updated - - - 100% agree on matching styles. It would bug me if the styles weren't similar and the work didn't flow together smoothly. I'm leaning towards returning to the original artist but have 1 or 2 other artist that I might inquire about their willingness to extend existing work.
  5. Are there any rules/etiquette about having a different artist extend an existing 1/2 sleeve to 3/4? I ask because while I am happy with my existing 1/2 sleeve the artist who did the work isn't known for his Japanese work and I would be more comfortable going to a well known artist with more experience adding on to existing Japanese work.
  6. so your saying you want to have more one night stands as a memorial to your dead pets?
  7. so you are saying neck to ankle coverage would be acceptable? :)
  8. I keep re-reading this and I'm confused. Very confused. Can you explain?
  9. saw the photo and the "blueprint" you posted on instagram and it looks like a great place! a new place is exciting but I'm realizing it will be a ton of work to get things set up before we feel settled in. The tenant before us was a older lady who hand an extensive collection of trash (she was a hoarder), but luckily the building owner is thoroughly cleaning and repainting the entire apartment before we move in. Then we have to hunt down some nicer inexpensive furniture because want we have now will look like a mixed matched pile of crap. I'm sure there will be some intense negotiations on what to get and where to put it haha.
  10. signed a lease and am moving in with my girlfriend on July 1st. excited about having a "nice" place for the first time in my life. it is a 1 bed 1 bath with a small kitchen but a huge room that will be used as a combined living/dinning area and a little nook that will be set up as a office area. also really high ceilings (10 or 12 feet) so plenty of room for my growing print/flash collection, just need to convince my girlfriend that some of the dragon prints aren't as scary looking as she thinks they are.
  11. Do you plan on adding background or will it just be as is for now?
  12. Thanks again for sharing this. I had so much trouble with the aquaphor and dry healing methods I previously tried. Both resulted in thick scabs, cracking, and color loss regardless of who the artist was. I used the re-wrap method to heal my last session with O'Donnell and it healed beautifully. And my most recent work from Byrne is in the process of the the thinnest/lightest peal I've experienced. The only thing better than an awesome new tattoo is a perfectly healed awesome tattoo. ps. if i make it up to the montreal convention i think i owe you a few beers for helping me figure out an aftercare routine that works for me.
  13. It is so terrible and corny that I've started to love it.
  14. @ironchef based on my 16 hours of getting tattooed by him, Chris is an outstanding guy. Also I think that snake and tiger backpiece belongs to a fellow LST member.
  15. for the first time since October I have no future appointments booked... i think i need to go make an appointment to get my koi half sleeve polished up (now that i figured out a healing method that works perfectly for me) and extended to 3/4 so it matches my other arm...
  16. i try to ignore that thread because i suffer from back piece envy and i get completely side tracked day dreaming about starting my own.
  17. This thread and the interviews are by far the best parts of LST.
  18. terrible photo and taken on the 3rd day of healing but here is my latest by Steve Byrne:
  19. I've watched that show and when they show the completed coverup my first thought is "okay now show me how you are going to coverup the coverup"
  20. i'm pretty sure i've seen a picture somewhere of a guy with just a full bum piece
  21. heads and moons appears to be this month's trend so far
  22. terrible photo quality but i think you assessment is accurate. I'm also guessing that for legal reasons the company would have to give all employees the raise even if they didn't get tattooed.
