My girlfriend and I enjoyed meeting everyone and am looking forward to going to the convention again next year! It was fun talking tattoos with real live people. Also the poutine was outstanding. And I highly recommend visiting Montreal, it is a great weekend trip if you are within 5-6 hours by car/bus.

Sorry about your hearing Mark :( I couldn't really hear everything everyone said either to be honest, it was kind of crowdy and the noise level wasn't the best for me who can have a hard time with english XD

I just wanted to say that meeting up with everyone was super nice last night! I often find internet meet-ups kind of awkward, but not with this bunch. Very friendly, personable folks, plus with tattoos as a common area of interest, lots to talk about. Hope you all have a good last day at the convention and a chill trip home!

I too want to weigh in on this. I had the great pleasure of meeting @Graeme , @Pugilist , @Mushu @BrianH and his wonderful partner, at Poutineville in Montreal last night after a busy day at the convention. Internet meet-ups can definitely be awkward, but these folks were amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of you and hope we will meet again in the future. You couldn't ask for a more friendly, more interesting, and pleasant group of people. My only regret is that I have poor hearing and I was having a very hard time hearing parts of the conversation. I had to constantly ask people to repeat themselves. I'm sorry about that.
It occurs to me now that we should have taken a group picture to post here!
Anyway, this was my first convention and I am now certain there will be many more to come. Montreal for certain - it's one of the loveliest cities in the world, and the convention was top-notch.

It was also great to meet @Mushu, who joined us for poutine, @mtlsam, who joined us for beer, and @Dennis and his totally charming girlfriend, who surpassed us all in enthusiasm and stamina by spending seemingly every waking hour at the convention. It was way more fun to navigate the chaos of a tattoo convention feeling like we knew people!

It was seriously great meeting you all! It's really nice putting faces to names and finding out that you're all super cool, friendly, easy-going folk in real life as well. I hope that we will all meet up again...perhaps next year again at the Montreal convention?
I'd also really like to thank Val and Pierre at Tattoomania for putting on this convention year after year. They always get great tattooers, it's super fun in a gorgeous setting, and it's really a pretty incredible event. Like getting the chance to see Filip Leu and Kurt Wiscombe knocking out one-session backpieces? That is the stuff of legend happening literally right there, and we are so fortunate that there are people like Val and Pierre who love tattooing so much that they're putting that incredible amount of work into making it happen.

Spent the whole day at the convention again, scored some awesome goodies in the last two days as well! They'll make their way onto Instagram eventually!

Need to ask my girlfriend if she is cool with eating poutine with tattooed people from the world wide web, but I think she'll be okay with it. I'll confirm later today.

Edit: Oh well god damnit, I was able to pay 200$ for this. (Really not a big tattoo but I understand that they have to make a bit of money too) But Dimitri only accept project of at least 400$. I have my sleeve in the process so i'm a bit low on the money I can spend... damn.
I'll do it next year.

I'm good :P Thanks for the greetings and yes, i'm from Quebec, which is the city with the same name as the province in Canada. Montreal is a metropole, so still a big city and don't worry about the barrier language because many people there only speak english. Would still be great if you could learn french there is kind of a linguistic "war" here. (Long story about the colonial French and the Britain but we sre still fighting to keep our language which is more and more difficult with each new generation, anyway...)
I can't really answer about the tattoo market in Montreal or Canada in general, I know some artist in the metropole are recognize like Olivier Glamort ([/url] ) and maybe Eric de L'Étoile with his dark style ( https://www.facebook.com/eric.deletoile.9/photos ) don't hesitate to go visit their shop.
I can still say that people are more and more interested in tattoos every day.
Canada is like any other occidental culture based country :P Same sh*t different places i guess. (Major difference is that it's cold like hell in winter). I don't know about your educational system in america in regards of learning french, but in my opinion French is French. There is differant accents like in France, Marseille, or even here from some place around the province. There is "joual" which is like the slang you have in america i guess. This is probably what some of your teacher are referring to.
And don't worry i won't judge, my english isn't perfect either but I appreciate the efforts you do :)
