  1. I noticed on IG that you got some more peonies done! Congrats, they're beautiful :)
  2. Haha you went there So aside from the fact that you just insulted about 80% of LST's membership with that post, you should probably learn a little about the style you're bashing before you make such sweeping generalizations. It's fine if you don't like traditional tattooing and it's fine to feel like every tattoo needs to be a custom masterpiece, but I cannot emphasize how dumb it makes you look when you come to a forum with no sense of who it is you're interacting with and why people here like what they like. There are hundreds of pages describing the history and innovation behind traditional tattooing, it might have been a good idea to read through the forum a bit before posting. Also, just fyi, there are handfuls of traditional tattooers who can draw circles around portrait artists and vice versa. Style and skill have little to do with each other.
  3. Do you mean long lasting as in the durability of craftsmanship, or the durability of stylistic preference over time?
  4. I also had a fantastic time kickin it and meeting you! Thanks again for getting tattooed and breaking our Higgs cherries! It was seriously such a blast, and I too am forever grateful to LST for connecting such rad folks as yourself. Cheers Kevin!
  5. I've been seeing a lot of heads with the faces replaced with things like staircases or outer space. Been seeing a lot more hand poked work this year, and a lot of tattoos with backgrounds in various geometric shapes.
  6. @hogg thanks man! I could not be more pleased with these ones. Can't go wrong with pretty ladies (:
  7. Rob Mopar is doing a guest spot at FTW through Saturday. Neither of us were doing much yesterday so he made these ladies for me. His instagram is @rwmopar if anyone is wondering.
  8. Ah yeah, that makes a lot of sense. For some reason I had it in my head that it was a backpiece.
  9. Wait, I thought Yoni Zilber was doing your back? But yeah, it's going to be major and I am really, really excited. Green Tara in the works!
  10. @Pugilist thanks Anna! I really think it is going to have a major influence on not only my tattooing but also the quality of my life and how I interact with people in general. I think it will be good (: @keepcalm thanks! I'm at the shop Thursday through Monday 12-7
  11. 8-12 mos for a consultation. Which is the perfect amount of time for me because it's enough to plan accordingly but not so very far away. I'm really excited and nervous, haha
  12. Her dad??? What? Anyway, great piece, can't wait to see it finished!
  13. I've been a little AWOL lately (new shop + dead computer), but I'd still love to say what's up! I'll shoot you a pm, hopefully you can find your way to Oakland. I remember you saying something about stopping in anyway
  14. @keepcalm you should stop by the shop even if you don't get tattooed, it would be rad to meet you! Also FTW is just a really fun and rad shop to check out, flash from floor to ceiling. And last week I called Tattoo City and put my name on Kahlil's list to start my back. Wee!
  15. It was such a good show! Really impressive body of work
  16. @beez You like leopard print?? Get the fuck out! :p Also Radeo was the first person I thought about with this thread Just posting to echo the other sentiments about how I would have never gotten any of my first tattoos if I had the option to do it all over again at this point in my life. I don't hate any of them, just would have gotten better shit. You'll probably feel the same way, but that's your call! Definitely urge you to start small. A back piece is no joke for your first tattoo, and especially at 18.
