  1. When you posted that in the latest tattoo thread I looked at it nonstop. Such a great tattoo.
  2. Nice stuff and great cat!
  3. Welcome. I just scoped your instagram a bit. Nice stuff.
  4. @chrisnoluck For sure. As it gets closer we should all try to figure something out.
  5. I'm glad I finally got on board with all things Kozelek in the last year or so. I missed years of good stuff!
  6. @Delicious Well, @huggernaut and I have been best friends for about 10 years now...and we met at local punk rock shows. Haha. It just so happens that @CultExciter is a friend of a friend. Small world!
  7. I definitely haven't been tattooed by nearly as a lot of people in this thread, but I can definitely agree with people who mentioned Scott Sylvia. He cruised through the tattoo he did on my shin.
  8. @steve1461686340 No sweat, just figured I'd pass it along. Thanks!
  9. @CultExciter Oh man, that's awesome. Bruno rules as well! Restos are great, but I miss chaotic Jena Berlin shows.
  10. @CultExciter Hahaha, no shit? Jon is one of my best friends. Best dude. He designed my freaking wedding invitations.
  11. It's pretty much what you'd expect. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one.
  12. Always appreciated. The first big tattoo I ever got was a heart with a banner that says "Live your heart and never follow."
  13. Yeah, most of my students can't even read cursive.
  14. When I click on them, the YouTube box says "This video is no longer available because the uploaded has closed their YouTube account. Sorry about that." Say it ain't so. Edit: also, sorry if this isn't the correct place for this. Feel free to move, modify, delete, whatever.
  15. This thread is impressive. This has shown me how little I truly know. Haha.
  16. Nothing wrong with any of the Wu-affiliated records going on here. Good stuff, @Graeme! and @CultExciter, I haven't heard that Red Hare record, but I liked em when I saw them in the summer. A lot of other cool stuff on your list, too!
  17. Yeah, I'm getting my wife one to Olde City Tattoo in Philadelphia. Martin Lacasse did her left arm years ago, and she's always saying she wants him to do the other one. I figure this might motivate her to get started.
  18. @HaydenRose For sure. Don't get me wrong, I listen to plenty of old records, but I'm always on the lookout for new stuff. And despite what people say, there's always good new music coming out.
  19. Man, I never thought of it like that. I'd say a solid 50% of my library comes from books I bought for less than $5 in college. Apparently my spare bedroom is a disease factory. Thanks @daveborjes. Hahaha. I guess now that you mention it, I'm thinking of the flagged book at Brentanos in Seinfeld...
  20. I was intending new records of 2013, but that seems to have gone over like a lead balloon. Haha.
  21. @el twe, I downloaded those right around Thanksgiving but for some reason haven't brought myself to read em. Kinda feels weird. And I think I'd hate reading em on my computer screen. And @irezumi, I think "For Esme" might be the perfect short story.
  22. Since watching the Salinger doc on Netflix, I've been re-reading some of his stuff. I just read Raise High the Roofbeams, Carpenters, and I'm making my way through Nine Stories. Some of them I revisit regularly (For Esme and Teddy, for example), but others I haven't read since high school.
  23. For those of us into neatly categorizing and wrapping up the year, I thought this may be a good place to discuss music of 2013. What did you find yourself listening to most? I suppose it'd be proper form for me to start. 1. Self Defense Family – Try Me 2. Restorations – LP2 3. Touche Amore – Is Survived By 4. Comadre – s/t 5. Mark Kozelek and Desertshore – s/t 6. Paint it Black – Invisible (generally I do EPs separate, but this is too good) 7. Into It. Over It. – Intersections 8. A Wilhelm Scream – Partycrasher 9. Iron Chic – The Constant One 10. Deafheaven – Sunbather edit: I also just realized there's a typo in the subject line. Damnit.
  24. @real meta, The Millenium Falcon ship in a bottle that Richard Smith did is so great.
  25. Note to self: do not enter tattoo of the month contest in October 2014.
