  1. He did my regular artist's head last time he was in Philly, and I would love to get something from him if he makes his way back here.
  2. I've been really into the lady heads that Herb Auerbach has been doing lately. I know some people already mentioned Stefan Johnsson, and they definitely have a similar style with really heavy blacks, golds, and reds. These are pulled from his Instagram (@herbxauerbach). PS. These are the first pics I've tried to attach to a reply, so hopefully they show up ok. Sorry if they didn't.
  3. Well, for better or worse, I just saw that a new season starts tonight.
  4. Josh Stephens (@joshstephenstattoos on Instagram) has been posting some pretty bold, thick roses. They're a little different from what I traditionally like (or have on me at all), but they're cool.
  5. I'm glad I finally found a site like this. I've been seeing all these tattoos all over Instagram, and now I finally get to see the owners.
  6. These already got here. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll have to keep my eye out for the next set in the fall.
  7. Yeah, same. I saw that one this morning as well. I love Dobleman's lady heads.

  13. Who tattoos you in Philly? I'm just outside and I'm always curious to check out new people.
  14. Glad to hear all the good things. I know I've enjoyed his work for years, and he seemed super nice at the consult. I'll obviously post pics once it's done.
  15. Yeah, Grez will be doing two pretty traditional looking panther(ish) heads, but with the coloring of my two cats on the back of my leg. I'm giving him some freedom with the background/filler though. I booked back in February or March for September, and I can't wait.
  16. I actually have a somewhat similar idea, but with a different take. It's an unfinished book (little ribbon bookmark in) with a lock on it (representing a song with the line, "there're chapters in this book that I haven't even read yet"), with a sugar skull on top of it.
  17. I just posted this in my initiation thread, but I'm getting tattooed by Grez at King's Avenue in September. That'll be my first time at that shop and by him, and I can't wait. I've loved his stuff for a while, but finally took the plunge. Between that and buying a house, my tattoo budget is pretty minimal right now. I'm looking to get in with one of a few people I have in mind at the Richmond Convention in November and then Brian Bruno at Absolute Art in early 2014.
  18. Oh wow, thanks! I had looked on the SOG site and there was no link of the "Available at" section. I just assumed they were sold out (I saw a post as of a week or two ago they were almost gone). But three of them are still up on Tattoo Elite International. I just picked up em!
  19. I wish I'd been lurking/paying attention earlier. My wife is pretty bummed she can't get her hands on those prints. Haha. Hopefully I'll be able to get one of the books for her!
  20. Dream list is just a lot of the "usuals," but limited by geography and travel (and waiting lists!). Grime, Stell, Scott Sylvia, almost anyone at Spider Murphy's, etc. For the foreseeable future I wanna try and hit a lot of east coasters (Todd Noble, Josh Stephens, Brian Bruno, Smith St, Martin Lacasse, etc). Stupid mortgage eating up my tattoo money.
  21. I'm going to search a little bit, but perhaps someone will see here and be able to answer... I keep trying to set a profile picture, but it keeps saying that the upload failed. The images is smaller than the required pixel limit and it's only 20kb. Any ideas on why this may be? Thanks in advance!
  22. A friend of a friend recently got tattooed by Grime, and just seeing the one little picture on Instagram caused me to rewatch the entire Grime set again. It's probably only a matter of time before I watch em all again.
