  1. Pick an artist you like and go talk to them.........then save up the money you need to get done what you want done! At least you won't be floored now when you find out you probably won't get it covered up for $200 and why consider building around a tattoo you already are thinking you want covered? Like I said....go talk with someone....you aren't wasting their time if you are serious about getting tattooed by them! :)
  2. I got the 8 tattoos in 3 days last year at Philly.....this year it was just 3 tattoos on Friday....lmao! I am pretty much used to being tattooed on a regular basis so it really isn't a big deal anymore! It's a fun little show though! :)
  3. And to answer your question.....I prefer to get tattooed by many different people! I have been trying to get the best work possible over the years and allowing artists to do pretty much what they would like to do! I am definitely like a patchwork quilt of tattoos...and styles as well.....and I love the way my collection has progressed over the years!
  4. There is actually a blog entry that was started by Mario Desa that a lot of people have added their lists to! Here is the link...... Who Has Tattooed You It's pretty interesting....at least to me!
  5. He was going to tattoo my son who had just graduated boot camp down in Lawton....but my son got his orders and shipped out at 2am the following morning! So....my hubby had his hand tattooed instead....a beautiful rose! i really would like to add something by him to my collection one day....he used to be out around the DC area all the time but he pretty much stays close to home now I think. I can't blame him to be honest....i loved it out there!
  6. I have been meaning to get something from him for a long time! I was going to try to get something from him when we were down for the opening of Right Coast Tattoo but he was having a good time at his opening party and I elected to get something from Bert Krak since he was there! I am stoked to finally add something by Todd! hopefully it will all work out as planned....he's going to the Salt Lake City convention this weekend or I would have gone down this weekend to get it!
  7. I went like two years ago and had a really good time! It's a small convention.....but it had a nice relaxed vibe to it! I'd go if I was gonna get tattooed there but I don't think I will make it out this year!
  8. Taz (hubby) was talking on the phone with Todd Noble last night so it looks like next weekend we will be heading out to Black Cobra Tattoo and I will add a piece from Todd! I was not expecting this one but the way the weather has been (knock on wood) we were thinking a trip to the beach to just hang out would be nice and Todd is right on the way....ha ha ha! I have no clue what i will get.....probably whatever he wants to do!
  9. It did take a lot out of me and I have found the older I get the more it takes out of me too.....but there was a little "recovery time" (if you wanna call it that....lol) in between each of the tattoos! Eat right....keep fluids in you....and get sleep! I am adding smaller (baseball sized) tattoos to my collection....although some artists want to take more than that it seems....lol......so it's not quite the same comparison as yours sounds like one huge piece!
  10. Congrats!!!! :) Are you getting work from Dave Bruehl, @Scott R???
  11. I don't think my experience is quite what you mean but I was tattooed 8 times in 3 days last year at the Philly convention! 2 times on Friday....total of 4 hours 4 times on saturday.....total of 5.5 hours 2 times on Sunday......total of 3 hours I looked like the walking wounded and it did take a lot out of me but it wasn't what i would consider a marathon session since i had an hour or two in between several of the tattoos! I have seen people though that have had 8 hour sittings one day and come back the next day for a 5 or 6 hour sitting (straight sittings) and I don't think i could do something like that! I wouldn't want anything that big on me personally.
  12. I generally let the artist do what he or she wants to do or is stoked about doing! I have found that if an artist is excited about doing the tattoo that i generally am going to get their best work and they usually are happier and more talkative because they are finally doing something they want to do not something the customer has asked them to do! This could also be why i have 2 vaginas, 3 dildos, and a penis tattooed on me too.....but hey....I have no regrets and love every single tattoo i have in my collection! :)
  13. Ha ha ha.....but we know there are many others we haven't heard of!
  14. I personally don't think everything Dan Higgs did was perfect and I think Dan even hated the big deal that was made about him.....at least that's what I walked away with from the convo I had with Eddie! Also the tattoos he did on eddies I saw have held up well and do look amazing....light makes dark....dark makes light...I do wish I had added him while I had the chance! Mike Wilson is definitely on my list of people to add to my collection but I personally figure the best tattooer in the world is probably some guy in a street shop somewhere.....a guy who none of us have even heard of....who pounds out solid tattoos day after day and could care less if anyone has ever heard of him because he loves what he's doing and could care less if his peers liked what he was doing or not! I love well done face tattoos and have thought about getting one at some point once I decide what I want.....and if everyone thinks I am dumb for it I could care less! In fact my dragon tattoo being done on the side of my head (at the end of the month) may actually wrap around the front of my ear onto my face And....I don't like any of the tattoo shows....no matter who is on the show! It might make them a little more tolerable to watch but I still would prefer not see any tattooing on TV......but who am I to tell someone not to take the money they get offered to be on those shows! I learned what i know from spending my hard earned money in tattoo shops and from friends who trust me with the info they have told me....they know I won't talk/share the info with anyone but them! I have learned nothing from any of the shows I have seen and usually turn them off in disgust! I know you were being general and not specifically talking about my post but I thought I would at least throw out how I feel on the subjects you addressed! These are just my opinions of course....... And I totally get what you are saying too! But.....i do enjoy coming here and seeing others opinions on the subjects that are addressed and voicing my thoughts! I am very interested in the community even though i don't tattoo and here i can be a small part of it! :)
  15. I hung out with Sailor Eddie Jr most of the day on Saturday in Philly.......We pretty much had a 2 hour discussion on Dan when I mentioned not adding a tattoo of his to my collection, while I could have, was one of my major regrets! I got to see the 4 or 5 tattoos that Dan did on Eddie when the two worked together! Pretty amazing stuff.....and Eddie showed me a tattoo or two that he did on Dan! Some of the tattoos are in the TattooTime books put out by Ed Hardy! It was a really cool discussion!
  16. I have a list of people I want to be tattooed by and some of those people have been tattooing for quite some time so.....I feel in a few of the cases there mat be an urgency to go ahead and get the tattoo while these people are still tattooing! I have found as you get older it really does hurt more....and most of the spots I have left are painful ones! however the tattoos are getting smaller as I will eventually run out of room! This session was really a spur of the moment thing! We called last Thursday.....found out that "Reds" did indeed still tattoo (we weren't quite sure) and he does work on Saturdays (he just colors the tattoos in) so I very respectfully asked if he would be willing to add a piece to my collection! He said he would so we picked something off the wall together and made it happen! My next scheduled appointment is with Dave Kruseman and he is going to tattoo the right side of my head! That should be fun......ha ha ha! I have a wish list.....but I am going to need to plan a few trips to make those happen as they are all well over a 1000 miles away from me so you may notice the frequency drop off some in the near future!
  17. Stopped by Philadelphia Eddie's yesterday and added a tattoo by Jerry "Reds" Donohoe! He did a vulture on me! :)
  18. I really need to get out to the West Coast! I have been loving some of the stuff I have seen Norm doing across peoples knuckles lately! Nice addition Kevin! :)
  19. I have given up.....i just smile! If they are happy with it then....it is what it is! If someone asks me who to go to then I tell them....but I know they probably aren't going to really listen! It gets frustrating for me though to see pretty young ladies with absolute garbage on them! It does however make me appreciate the freinds I have in the craft that have helped me a long with awesome advice! I am also surprised I have listened to them....ha ha ha.....fortunately i did though! ;)
  20. Make your 100 grand the old fashion way.....earn it....and with that you earn respect too! And you and others have done that! (Earned the respect of their peers) No matter what craft you are a part of there is no short cut to the top! And fame that comes fast seems to have very limited shelf life! I hate these shows....and I personally believe they do more overall harm than good! If people don't agree then I respect that as their opinion....but you won't change my mind about my view on it all! :)
  21. Photo of Zeke with another tattoo artist on the artist's personal page!
  22. Okay......photo from Royal Peacock I saw was from Oct 2011..... Heard he was just recently in Alaska...... I have heard also that he may be currently in Florida visiting a relative and not sure if he is tattooing there.... I have also head about him being in the Carolina's somewhere or Delaware! The Guam thing is from like 2 years ago I think! It's like "Where is Waldo".....ha ha ha! AND....i personally am loving the interviews guys!!!!! Oliver, Katie, Henk, and all the others! THANK YOU!!!!!!! <3
  23. I was given that email addy a while back and I fired off an email to it the other day! I haven't heard anything back yet though!
