Last night made fried chicken that marinated in egg and sriracha for twenty-four hours then rolled it in a panko and falafel batter. Been working on my fried chicken lately......
Also getting ready for the cold weather and soup making season....mmmmm
you know i a=love my fried chicken...best recipe i tried was thomas keller's recipe. he brines his in lemon, seasoning, garlic, then does a double dredge. it is kind of labor intensive but really great.
in a pinch this is a super flavorful and easy oven fried chicken recipe (only 4 ingredients and that even includes salt and if you don't have time to marinate it still comes out great).

did you ever make my pho recipe? super easy.I've been on a chicken and beef chuck Vindaloo lately. Super good. I've got a feeling this cold season is going to be all about curries and pho. -

We have an abundance of figs on our parents tree so I made grilled figs, roasted butternut squash, and ribeyes for dinner...i know kind of random but i was craving a steak.

i love cream cheese icing and so anything with cream cheese icing on it must be good, but alas i have not yet tried a delicate moist red velvet. they have all have been kinda dry!
Guy, i feel another cooking fit coming on! i think im going Ecuadorian style this time!! mmmmmmm.....just thinking of all the possibilites!!

@dcostello the tomato variety for your info: Porkchop (yellow), Pink Berkeley Tie Dye (Purple/maroon), sungold (cherry), i think there may be a beauty king as well (blush/pink)...then jalapenos and seranos.
what desserts did you guys get?

we had a party last week and had a competition level bbq-er cater the event. his brisket is ranked 11th in the nation. it was REALLY good.
we had:
homemade burrata and heirloom tomato salad (i made)
habanero shrimp
homemade sausage
smoked salmon in cucumber cups
brisket
ribs
collard greens
macaroni and cheese
baked beans
fruit
red velvet cake
strawberry cake with white chocolate frosting

BTW, really tried to make it to b-day party, the universe and my brother in law and Don's Tires in Berkeley all teamed up against me.
