  1. That's fantastic. I started college when I was 32. I had been sober a little over a year, had 2 kids, and had to work almost full time while taking a full load of classes. I found that I was older than a lot of my Professors (and pretty much all of the instructors) but that was good and we had a lot of respect for each other. I was always expected to lead group projects though so watch out for that. Also, when you are done you will have your schooling AND that work experience which puts you farther ahead of the game when it comes to competing for jobs.
  2. I have a spot for a serpent, just need to go get it done. Perhaps that will be my first New Hampshire tattoo.
  3. I'm about 2/3 packed. I will leave Dallas on the 23rd, visit family in Indiana for Thanksgiving, and then head to NH to start on 12-1
  4. Found out there were open auditions to be on Survivor in Dallas yesterday so I had to go, right?
  5. This is the kind of information that is vital to the decision to move halfway across the country.
  6. @GingerninjaStill at 95%. Waiting for the final offer. I have found an apartment in Manchester that I will grab as soon as that is finalized. Confidence is high, I have started packing for the move.
  7. So, I used to drink a lot and use tons of drugs. I one heard someone say "my drug of choice was more" and that pretty much sums me up from about 16 to my early 30s. Clean and sober for something like 15 years now but not sure I could call myself straight edge because of my history. I have a few friends who have been dedicated straight edge their whole lives and are in their 40s and 50s now. I think if I call myself straight edge that kinda takes away from what they have done. They allow all ages into shows in bars down here and many places will mark the under age patrons hands with an X. I was thinking there was a really strong straight edge scene down here until I figured that out.
  8. Looks like there is about a 95% chance of me moving to NH
  9. So, I had my interview up in New Hampshire this week. Interview went really well and I would be surprised if they don't offer me the job. Manchester is a small city and it didn't seem like there was much of a scene there. I did find a shop that looks like they put out some solid work though. http://bulletprooftigertattoo.com/ https://www.instagram.com/bulletprooftigertattoo/ I have no people in Manchester though so if I do take the job looking for an apartment and moving my crap in might be rather difficult. But I could get a solid tattoo once I settle in. So there is that.
  10. Thanks. I've been there before and it is a spectacular place. And you have morels in the springtime which is another plus over Texas.
  11. Got a call from a recruiter a couple of weeks ago, didn't really think anything would come of it. Now, two phone interviews later they are flying me out to New Hampshire next week for a F2F and likely an offer. Would anyone in their right mind move from Dallas to New Hampshire at the beginning of winter? Oh my, I'm going to have a decision to make soon. Crazy times.
  12. The world would be a much better place if we all talked about our BMs. It is a great equalizing factor for humanity.
  13. Oliver is awesome. That is a cool thing about living in Dallas for the last year is running into him at punk rock shows and stuff. Now I'm realizing I've been in Dallas for a year and haven't gotten a tattoo from him and it looks like I'm about to be offered a job out east.
  14. Oh yeah, The family and I are headed to Riot Fest in Chicago this weekend. Misfits reunion, I am prepared for a lot of devilocks and dark eye makeup.
  15. I had not realized the new season had started (no cable here). Will have to check it out.
  16. Damn @marley mission Those are fantastic
  17. Seriously. I have one nice watch, a Citizen first generation Eco Drive, and only cost a fraction of what some of the watches I've looked at run. I do love some nice watches but, damn, that can be an expensive hobby.
  18. I've been called many things that are worse than 'tattoo collector' over the years; often deservedly so I will admit. I think I just crossed over this line recently myself. I now have 7 tattoos by 5 different artists. Really, in my mind, I'm just now to the point of qualifying as a tattooed person yet someone at work referred to me as having a lot of tattoos the other day. I wanted to say something like 'I know heavily tattooed people and I am not heavily tattooed' but I just let it go.
  19. Agreed. Monthly bragging rights would be fun
