  1. It's been awhile - I've just gotten organised to finish my arm sleeve in March (not looking forward to the ditch/ elbow) but super stoked to be done! Added a leg tattoo this winter - Alice illustration done by Jennifer Bowes at the Pearl in Toronto - I must say the thigh is a total pleasure after the inner arm experience!

  3. Sorry I've been away from this thread for awhile - I have lots of moles - some smooth some not and my tattoo artist just works around them (never tattoos them) or makes them part of the tattoo - I have a buddha on my shoulder and my mole became his bindi!
  4. I really enjoyed meeting her - she's smart, down to earth and hilariously funny. She also gives it to you 100% straight. She was a hoot to spend a few hours with. Not to mention she is a hell of a tattoo artist.
  5. My arm is certainly traditional and not at all masculine - I'm looking forward to adding more awesome pieces by killer female artists. As promised the Nikki Balls addition to my arm below a ladyhead from Glennie Whittal :).
  6. So I added this hand and flower while the brilliant and hilarious Nikki Balls was guesting in Toronto at the Pearl. Next to a butterfly lady head by Glennie Whittal

  8. I added a bit to my other arm with Nikki Balls the other day - will post pics when healed
  9. Yes! The inside of my arm was the first time I ever came close to tapping out. Brutal.
  10. The inside of arm near the armpit ... Not sure if it's the worst but Lordy it sucked.
  11. My arms are still in process but here's the 1/2 sleeve so far
  12. My favourite work story is when I was invigilating an exam last April. I was healing my sleeve and had worn a Cardigan to cover it up (as I usually do) but it had gotten way too hot so I took the cardigan off. My arm was peeling like crazy but I figured the students were looking at their exams - not me. One student looked up as I walked by, saw my arm and said "Dude! That's Fresh!" in the middle of the exam. The benefit of teaching Uni students I guess.
  13. My artist mentioned the worst contact dermatitis he has seen is post tattoo contact with wool - particularly wool sweaters and Uggs. He told me to stay away from all wool for at least a month.
  14. @Rawok Toronto has some amazing female tattoo artists, Pearl Harbor has Glennie Whittal (who I've been tattoed by a couple of times now, Lissa Vino, Jennifer Lawes (who I need to be tattoed by) and the incredible Alex Snelgrove at The Okey Doke - Vancouver also had a terrific shop called Liquid Amber who had some great female artists.
  15. All Thanks to Dan. He's really done an amazing job - he wanted to wait for the next section on my forearm to put eyes on the Foo so it's looking at something specific, something I never would have thought of!
  16. So half sleeve is coming along nicely - foo dog and goldfish recently added. Sleeve by Daniel Innis at the Pearl in Toronto.
  17. Going in to get my arm worked on tomorrow - ditch/ elbow fun!
