  1. The coke was so good he just got carried away snorting it off the knife
  2. Great post Stewart. Someone in one of the interviews on this site (Freddie maybe?) mentioned how he'd love it if tattooing returned to being illegal because then you'd only have people getting/giving tattoos who really love it. I think this falls into that category. I'd get tattooed in a house by someone using pigments they illegally and lovingly made themselves before going to a studio that uses watered down government sanctioned "safe" tattoo ink that inevitably will look like garbage.
  3. You are correct. Quoted from Ed's own site, "In some ways, the popularity of tattooing has backfired for me." Regardless of all the present day apparel/popularity, imagine where the Bay Area tattoo scene would be if Ed hadn't created Realistic/Tattoo City...
  4. Some artists you can email/call in advance and get appointments while others only do walk-ups at conventions. The best bet is to contact the specific shops/artists you wish to get tattooed by and find out what their schedule looks like.
  5. God damn how could I forget about this one... I always want to reply "and your point is?" to customers at work but I would be pretty much kissing my tips goodbye then.

God some people are just such pieces of shit. This is sad on so many levels. What an idiot
  7. The tattoos should separate you from the scratchers- not your clothing. There are plenty of ways to appear professional without looking uniform. You KNOW IT when you walk into a legit studio, regardless of the wardrobe of the artists. You can put a scratcher in a uniform but that doesn't make him PRO.
  8. a uniform? as a customer I would walk out of a shop like that just as soon as I entered. I deal with enough attempts to increase conformity at work and I don't want that from a TATTOO STUDIO. I feel like a tattoo studio should embrace the weird (getting tattooed is strange no matter how you think of it) and not the false sense of "sameness"...
  9. A friend just posted this picture of a sign he saw in San Jose, CA...

"minor in juggology" hahahaha. oh god. only good things can come from this
  11. hey Steve it was pop-up. I'm not seeing it anymore though. thanks!
  12. I couldn't find the list you mentioned. I also got immediately turned off by the rest of the content of that website. Their tattoo design of the week was cheesy generic killer whale flash. hmmmm no thanks.
  13. Out of curiosity what's unethical about it? The person who got Golden Palace tattooed on their forehead willingly chose to brand herself like that. Yes, I agree she's an idiot, but I fail to see what's unethical about it. They offered, she accepted, they paid, she got tattooed. Seems fair (albeit stupid) to me...
  14. I've known someone with a voice even worse than that. Not fake. Although the content/hysteria very well may be fake.
  15. I would get crazy on that guy and delete him after he got my facebook face tattooed on him. Just to be the first one he had to cover up.
  16. Slightly off topic but the people with neck/hands done and no other visible tattoos never tip good (I work food service-not tattooing.) They're dumb asses in more ways than one it turns out.
  17. a couple more from Jerry Hsu's photo blog
