  1. i wont be making it to montreal this year - not gonna work timing wise for me - but i will look to make it happen in 2017 - sounds like it will be a great time with a top selection of artists
  2. thought i posted a response to ths but now its gone? meh anyway - you're good - complete healing takes a month, 6 weeks thigh tattoos always a tough heal for me but sounds like you are doing fine wih yours they all heal eventually
  3. 8/29 with Todd Noble at Redemption little bit of a hike so it might become a tattoo / Fenway / overnight man tour type of thing...if I can convince a buddy to join in :) either way - I'm getting tattooed :)
  4. @DJDeepFried yeah i know - i debated posting anything actually - though i dont think i was harsh - just sharing an opinion - if she threw up the pic in the lowdown - which is what most people do with their new tattoos - it would have come and gone end of story - but when you start a whole thread to discuss your new tattoo!!! - well - i think you invite discussion - good, bad and ugly to me - the idea of a phoenix is cool one - but the artist didnt do it justice imo - and that started with a weak design - but like i said in my inital post - its not the end of the world - especially when its on your thigh - which led to my advice of continuing to seek advice and info regarding future tattoos on the forums then she went in a different direction - refusing to give the artist name for fear we would find her whereabouts - i think that puts a wrap on her participation here cause thats not really very social behavior - but we'll see but i'll be honest - i would hate to see her continue to be tattooed by that artist - a couple weak tattoos are one thing - but no one needs a whole bunch of them
  5. @lildropofsunshine well good luck then...wherever you are
  6. @lildropofsunshine so awesome you cant give him credit? uh not sure I understand that part of your processing
  7. @lildropofsunshine hey thats cool - many things factor into choosing an artist - including the personality and friendliness of the artist - among many other things - anyway - who is the artist you chose? like i said - you shouldnt worry what I think of your tattoo anyway - you're diggin it
  8. @lildropofsunshine well I definetly dont love this tattoo - however - I'm not wearing it - and what's most important is that it met your expectations - so enjoy it - my critique would be in the design elements - but like I said - you dig it so rock on - I hope you continue to get tattooed and continue to use this site as a resource for future tattoos and to identify talented tattooers for future work
  9. i usually just bring the body part thats getting tattooed
  10. @Graeme touches on such an important point - be it a coverup or any tattoo really its best to start with finding the right artist - doing your research - and then approaching the artist to discuss a tattoo direction for what you desire the whole "internet forum consultation" about design ideas is just backwards imo

  17. @Graeme I definetly am - I have wanted to go to Montreal since I was a kid - grew up a Gary Carter fan and my parents had a trip planned for us to go see an Expos game, be tourists, etc - then...Carter gets traded and I also go to the Mets in the trade :) Trip cancelled anyway - lots of good info in your post - I would guess I would make an appt and go from there btw - you scheduled for tattoos yet? You were trying for Rob last year right?
  18. so... say i decided to come to montreal for the convention whats the 101 on it -best to have an appt? -some days better than others? -good hotels / restaurants in the area? looking at the lineup - whoah so many tattooers i would love to get tattooed by obviously a LST related gathering sounds fun too hmmmm.... EDIT: I should mention too that I have never been tattooed at a convention - not so sure I would enjoy the big crowd aspect so much but who knows

  20. “Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the fasten seat belt sign. We are now crossing a forum thread of turbulence. Please return to your seats and keep your seat belts fastened. Thank you.”
  21. i think there are components here for a good tattoo i.e. - short meaningful text; banner; crown image - ok - i'm in... the key though is to have an artist who can save you from yourself and your bad tattoo ideas hopefully your selected tattooer fits that bill good luck
