  1. Welcome!

    Tata's et al: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/5371-ladies-thread.html

Somewhere in the aftercare section there is talk about self care - I become more flexible under much duress, and used a lotion handle when things were not as raw. Amazon.com : Kingsley Lotion Applicator On Wood Handle : Bath And Shower Products : Beauty

Driving after - yeah, tough. I rolled a towel and put the towel against my back and the seat at a place that had NOT been tattooed that session. Driving got uncomfortable - 3-4 hours for me.

quite timely - i'll be going on the back in the near tattooing future - i have poor flexibility in my shoulders from them being beat up over the years - football and weights and falls oh crap sore just thinking about it

but yes - i need a way to clean and put ointment on - i might just have my wife help me too i dont know but i would like to be prepared for proper self care should i prefer that

while we are talking back ink - i am leaning towards a piece meal effort - like i can see a good amount of coverage on the back in my future but i think i might prefer a few large pieces side by side as opposed to one more cohesive, singular (and more common?) approach to the back piece

  2. I'm not looking forward to my ribs or my lower back. My ship tattoo encroached on that area and I felt like I was being tasered. No amount of "ohms" (see what I did there?) helped.

yeah i tried everything to deal with the pain - and after awhile my focus just became to hold still for the artist - but yeah - there was no hiding place - hurt good - my other rib i had done not long ago for 3.5 hours - was also bad - but nothing like the 6 hour effort - different world - no regrets though - a unique and cool experience - plus i'm diggin the tatt - which i'll post in a week or so

  3. cool glad you're into it

you start getting some stuff that end up stoked about

and those other pieces you dont care for might not feel such a burden

you might even enjoy them more in the future

after all - its art - in all its raw awesomeness

appreciate it for what it is

  4. i have only the vaguest idea of what is going on here in this thread but I would say that if you didnt like the tattoo then you just gotta deal and move on - i doubt i would go back to that artist though - think its time to explore a little your other options - find another artist and get another tatt - see how that one goes - you'll learn as you go how to put yourself into situations where you are likely to be happy with your future tattoos - i mean - i assuming you want to keep going right?

  5. I am getting a tattoo done in the Philly convention on Feb. 13. I originally asked for one design and changed my mind for something completely different. Now I am getting obsessed with Panther Rose morphs and am thinking of changing again after seeing one he did on his FB page. I don't want to tick off the artist but I really don't know if he even drew anything yet for my second idea. What do you guys think? Am I being an a-hole by changing my mind so much?

i think your concerns are valid - i'm the same way - i would worry about something like this too - but to your point - i doubt the artist even drew up anything yet - anyway - its going on you - like forever - so it might as well be what you want

i do like the suggestion of getting both though - big time!

  6. ok ok - now I know this is the heavyweight division - the best of the best - major league back pieces - epic sleeves from legendary artists from around the globe - tattooing black belts - you get the picture - but I figure - you only live once - so here is my first ever entry into one of my favorite monthly threads....

  7. Lol ! I won't for sure !! If i see that artist on street i would have something kind a fight.

What are the best Tattoo style to use as a coverup? I was watching that traditional use full colors , without much detail or texture. The same thing happens with the Japanese. What do you think about tattoos realistic animals, in great detail and texture, such as hair , wings , shadows, etc .. ?

hard one to answer - probably many dif opinions on this depending on the tattoo artist

i am almost think - especially if you are going to keep getting tattooed - it would be a good idea just to find an artist you like and trust and get a small piece from them - somewhere else on your body - see how you like it - see how you heal - if you are feeling good at that point - talk to the artist about your coverup ideas for your chest - see what they think

the content should be ballpark what you like but let the artist help with the execution of a tattoo you are going to be proud to wear - dont rush yourself into another mistake

as for the other artist - hey live and learn - i think most of us have pieces we dont 'love' anymore - part of the game

dont stress though - tattoo on - its a journey
