  1. Got word I might be flying out for work this month. I know it sounds far away but does anyone not like the idea of Dec 10? I would do it the 4th but I got an appointment at invisible nyc
  2. I never understood getting a extremely visible tattoo early on...never have never will. Even though it is visible, I never thought about how often my leg is exposed. It kinda sucks but meh I guess I will get used to it soon. Maybe I should get "Don't Preach to Me" tattooed on my neck so everyone stops trying to inform me of the opinions.
  3. As for visible tattoos (neck-up, wrists-down) I personally cannot do it since it would be a career stopper for myself, unless something changes drastically in the near future. At the same time my sister works in the creative field and is contemplating a forearm down onto the hand tattoo which is fine since in her field it is accepted. I will eventually get my hands and possibly side of my neck done after I retire or near-retirement. I love the look of hand tattoos (especially Thomas Hooper's stuff!) but I don't like the idea of wearing gloves everyday (already committing to long sleeves in a month). Not only work related but as I just finished my larger Dante's Inferno leg tattoo I already am starting to HATE the staring/questions of a tattoo that is visible, and the idea that I could never cover it up might be a bit much.
  4. While I never touched on any crazy areas yet (stomach, armpit, ditch, back of the knees) I still haven't had enough pain that I couldn't take it. Personally I like the endorphin release (maybe that's why tattoos are so damn addictive). I will never use numbing creme or drugs. The thing that bothers me more is the pain from holding an uncomfortable position for 3 hours...
  5. I work in South Ferry on the 1,R,N so anything pretty much
  6. I personally would feel a bit weird about walking into a shop where everyone wore a uniform. In my opinion it would cheapen the feel of the shop a bit.
  7. One thing I am starting to feel is the dreaded wait to get tattooed. Whether it is waiting for a particular tattoo to be finished between multiple sessions or my new recent problem of long wait times till your first appointment. Sometimes I just want to get something in-between the wait times. I know my current roommate is still only half way done with a gigantic quarter body tattoo that he started beginning of summer and is dying to finish. How about everyone else?
  8. I could possibly swing by after work. @gougetheeyes any ideas for places to eat/drink?
  9. @Stewart Robson wow I have to say that was epic, and well put.
  10. @Bill Blood Found a place in East Williamsburg. Funny thing is it's a block over from your shop!
  11. i have to say I was very young when I wanted a tattoo, glad there are laws against it. (just think how stupid it would be!) Glad I stuck with markers as a kid!
  12. Yea this dude is a thief. The scarier thing is people see all that work on his wall and think its him even though the few he had up there that were his were nowhere as good as the others! Sad thing is he probably doesn't know who ed hardy really is...
  13. Yea I was thinking at least a few weeks. Currently tied up with the apartment search. Thinking probably mid november
  14. Anyone down for a NYC meetup sometime in the future? I suggest Peculiar pub
  15. yea I know, luckily it was only 200 (so 40 bucks), but yea should have brought enough $ for my pain tolerance!
  16. Yea I am assuming it has something to do with fees. One shop I went to I ended up having to use a card because we ran much later than I thought. 20% fee for using the card..OUCH! Next time I went I brought damn near a grand so I would never go over again!
  17. So it looks like due to certain circumstances I will be moving to Brooklyn! If anyone knows of any cheap places let me know.
  18. Yea sister lives in Clinton Hill, so its a quick cab to Radegast. Love that place simple due to its smallest beer size is half a liter. It's the way it's supposed to be! There is a possibility I might move back to Brooklyn soon for a little while until I decide on San Francisco. Probably Clinton hill or Williamsburg.
  19. Sadly I got there too late due to comic con traffic. Tommorow I'm heading in early via train.
  20. Actually going to Brooklyn now to swing by Saved, Smith St, and possibly Kings Ave. on the way in, might get something done. Then Radegast for bratwurst and liter beers.
  21. While I don't have any unplanned tattoos right now, I have a plan to swing by either Smith Street or Adorned (or both) and get something on the spot. I am a bit of a control freak so it will be fun!
  22. Apparently it's actually: Hippos > Sharks..... who would have guessed...
