  1. I actually took this picture a couple weeks ago when my scorpion front stuff showed up. Just getting started. Not pictured: Ed Hardy's Wear Your Dreams, 2000 Dragons, and Monmon Cats

    Aloha!

Nice tattoo, welcome to the forum
  3. @sophistre rad first tattoo! I too, was staring at it on inta before I saw it on here. Congrats!
  4. My first thought was a dragon, or any other tough as nails animal that symbolizes power
  5. Started walking a lot more again, close to 3 miles a day, not counting what I do all day at work. Granted, this is because of car troubles, but I hope I can keep it up, maybe a couple days a week, after my car is back.
  6. There are a number of differing opinions on the best aftercare methods @seattleite; you can peruse the aftercare sub-forum and see all the things members have already written on the subject. Some like a little lotion here and there, others prefer specialized products, while others forego meddling altogether with the "dry heal" method. For your first tattoo I'd generally recommend following your tattooers instructions to the letter, they should know what works best for their own method of tattooing, and until you know what works best for you you probably shouldn't experiment too much.
  7. Nice collection you've got going there, welcome to the forum!

Welcome to LST! Who's making your tattoo?
  9. @Graeme that's awesome! I need to get up to FoCo sometime and start something with Ish. Thanks @bulldog, stoked to keep working on it
  10. @Shaun1105 I thought of this thread when I saw those on IG this morning, thanks for adding them here
  11. Awesome piece @CABS saw it on instagram, respect for getting it all in in one sitting I know that spot is tough
  12. I just got my copy of Stab City in the mail last friday, really awesome stuff in there, definitely worth checking out. Also, Scorpion Front just put The Great Unknown on sale ($140!) to get rid of their last 100 copies so if you were thinking about picking that one up now's the time.
  13. skip to 28:15 to hear Tony talk about tiger tattoos; also watch the whole thing cuz it's rad
  14. I think it looks really nice the way it is, I'm not really an expert on Japanese subject matter but I think it would be best to stay in a similar vein that you're going in, the best person to ask that question would probably be your tattooer. Besides stretching it down, another cool option to extend asian styled sleeves are these wristband-dealios (yes, that's definitely the technical term) there's some cool examples in this thread here. The beads are real classic but I've seen really rad dragon and/or flower wristbands done too.
  15. So, what was your question?
  16. @cookietruck figures that's on somebody here, I was marveling over it on IG last night
  17. As a new member your ability to create a thread isn't active until you've made 10 posts elsewhere on the forum. If you have a question you could just post it here in your intro thread, try not to add a bunch of meaningless posts all over just to reach your 10 though.
  18. It's too early to worry about irregularities in color, the skin does weird things while it's healing. If you aren't happy with the color or solidity of some of the lines you can get it touched up later. I'd let it dry out completely, only apply more lotion/goo if it feels exceptionally dry or itchy, and even then just a pea sized bit, just enough to cover it, not enough to shine.
  19. When I think of NZ tattooers the first guy to pop in my head is Capilli Tupou, the rest of the crew at Sacred Tattoo in Auckland seems to be putting on killer work all the time as well
  20. I read it under the impression that I couldn't zoom in but then I just went to check whether using my browsers zoom feature would work and found that you can just... click and zoom in a bit
