  1. I'm with gougetheeyes, it's pretty awesome, but i suppose it is your arm. Where do you live? You might be able to do a few lazer sessions to lighten it considerably and then cover it with whatever you want.
  2. I'm not big on the LOL, except I did here. Sometimes the shop helpers have the biggest attitude of them all. It reminds me of when I used to ride bicycles a lot, some of the people I trained with raced semi-professionally, and some didn't. The real athletes were the nicest and most helpful riders, but most of their hanger-ons were complete dicks.
  3. Didn't Skin and Ink have an issue with "Sate of Grace" on the cover?
  4. Hey, Oakland and SF LST'ers, I'd just like to put it out there, in a moment of shameless self-promotion, that I'm a kick-ass yoga teacher. And my Friday night 6:30 class is a donation based class, so if you're saving all your $ for your next tattoo or still broke from your last one, I don't care. I just want you to come do some yoga, please be my guest. My Vinyasa Flow classes are vigorous and playful, and I also promise not to hurt you if you are a beginner. So come recharge, regenerate, and find some new fluidity in your body. Loka Yoga 2701 MacArthur Boulevard Oakland, CA. 94602
  5. This is the best drinking game ever! I so wish I was still a functioning alcoholic! Of course, this game could conceivably push anyone over the edge.
  6. If anyone is going to this from the Bay Area and hasn't left yet, please PM me, K?
  7. Stitch626, how lucky for you to not be in a relationship with a fickle, small minded little man anymore. Sounds like he just released you from what could've been a long and lengthy suppression of your true self, I'm willing to bet he was vacillating and thoughtless in other areas as well. Maybe you should send him a thank you card every year on the anniversary of your independence?
  8. I have a friend who had a severe head injury that she never quite recovered from, and she feels this strongly about horses. And beer.
  9. Hello new friend! Always love it when a lurker turns into a poster.
  10. Not the best photo in the world, I tried to lighten it up a bit, but here's a tattoo I noticed on a Blackheart visit recently -
  11. She's like, "Oh my god, this girl's talking shit on YouTube and I smashed on her and made her feel hella stupid and called her a bitch!" I wish my mom talked like that.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion, it is definitely something we've talked here at LST. It's currently on our wishlist, and I imagine it will happen in the near future, hopefully not to long after the roll out of the new gallery system.
  13. Hello!

I grew up in a town called Elkins Park outside of Philly, and have a friend named Doug Elkins. Do you know him, or are you related to the Elkins/Thomas clan?

  14. Deb, I totally got it, and appreciate your perspective. I can't imagine living in a world where you could tell by looking at someone that they were actually a tattooer, since it's not an uncommon look these days. Was it just their look, or was there something else that they had that you recognized? Last night, at a chain store pharmacy, there were 4 register lines open. I intentionally got in line behind the large heavily tattooed man, because the rest of the people in the other lines all looked a little crazy to me. I'm pretty sure that 20 years ago, most small white moms in Oakland wouldn't have picked the big tattooed guy as the safest choice. It's definitely a different world.
  15. I was in a hotel room the other night with my husband and some friends and I shushed everyone in the room when the commercial came on myself. I'm not a reality show person myself, but I think that this one's gonna be tops.

    Hi Everyone!

Oh wow, that's quite a bit. We are lucky to live here for sure. I'm not familiar with any of the artists at Analog, but that Bloodwork:Sleeves book that they put out is amazing. And isn't Samuel O'Reilly's a beautiful shop? Will you be posting some pics of your tattoos for us?
  17. Sometimes, a tattoo wouldn't be funny or strange all by itself, but sometimes they don't match the projected or visible appearance of the person who's wearing the tattoo. I'd love to see some more examples. Here's mine, courtesy of Kreayshawn: "
  18. Just noticed this today, David Lynch is designing a nightclub in Paris based on Mulholland Drive: Mulholland Drive inspires a Parisian club - Features, Films - The Independent
