  1. Hi, and welcome to our site.

How about contributing something positive before starting a "I hate so-and-so" thread? The community we're fostering here has an emphasis on current tattooing, tattoo history, and tattooer's art and general interests, without wasting a lot of energy on gossip and people's personal lives. It sounds like you have a personal ax to grind with that person, maybe you should talk to him instead of airing it on a public forum? We'd love to see some pictures of your work or hear some personal stories, or you can weigh in on any of the threads we've already got going. But please no personal character assassination, there's enough of that in the world already.

    Thanks,

    Dari

  2. MsRad, what do you use for fake bacon? I actually had a pretend BLT for dinner tonight, but the tempeh bacon wasn't quite salty and greasy enough to serve to someone who loves bacon. Or maybe because I fried it in coconut oil? I dunno, but I kind of want to make those pretend bacon pancakes, too.

Yeah, I'm a little nervous. I'm scared that Gemma will be the one to end up dead.
  4. Hi Nathan, and thanks for joining in on the little party we've got going on here. Can't wait to hear your stories and see your art. Take care, Dari

I'm glad she's not dead. But the "mystery dead chick under the blanket" thing was cheap, cheap, cheap. I do love that the bad blood between Tig and Kozic is about a dog. But Stahl sux, where the hell is she going with this anyway? I mean, I get it, no friends on a powder day and all, but that's her genius plan? And why did Jax stab Salazar, when SAMCRO needs him?
  6. Can I get a Lazy Bulimic Barbie? You know, the one who just can't get off her ass to purge after binging?
  7. I've been on Cakewrecks on the occasional sleepless early morning, like 4 or 5 am, laughing my ass off.
  8. Yeah, there might be a few things wrong with Barbie, but there's even more wrong with people who think that Barbie could possibly be a healthy and wholesome role model for little girls. I've read that according to the proportions of her head, as a real life sized human she'd be over 7 ft tall, her neck would be twice the size of most humans, her measurements would be 39-23-33, and the poor thing would actually have to walk on all fours to get around. At least there's some personal choice involved in deciding where to apply the tattoos, as opposed to wishing for a freakishly unattainable figure. I like the comments about how this Barbie is inappropriate because the little girls will be deciding which body parts to show off. I saw this Barbie in Target not so long ago, what's she teaching?
  9. You guys are reminding me of my favorite food blog, Cakewrecks. The comments are generally as funny as the pictures, the only blog to make me LOL at 6am. http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/09/happy-labor-day.html
  10. I'm currently having a love affair with Gather in Berkeley. http://www.gatherrestaurant.com/
  11. I think bringing an ipod's cool as long as you're not jumping around to change the music every few minutes. I've used an ipod because I can listen to music that relaxes me and helps me to stay still. It also takes the pressure off the tattooer to entertain the client, they can just get in their own groove with the tattoo. And it certainly beats bitching about whatever music's being played at the shop! But everyone's different, check with your tattooer if the ipod's cool with them. Oh, one major don't- Do not ask them to fax you their drawing, and then send it back to them with big circles and x's all over it like it's a spelling test and you're the teacher! (Not that you would.) And it's true, baked goods are always a hit.
  12. Tammy, I love you to pieces, but mozzerella and eggs are not vegan! I do buy frozen gluten free pizza crusts at Mariposa bakery, though, which makes it even quicker, and pizza's always kid friendly. Little pizza sauce, bag of TJ's shreaded cheese, and it's on!
  13. Not sure about my own list, but I think it's super cool that you want to work at a bat rescue. One of my best friends took a year off from her regular life to work at a big cat rescue. She loved it. One thing I'll never forget is that she told me that tiger pee smells like popcorn.
  14. Um, an earthquake of bitching? That's not a nice thing to say, Loch. Tammy, when will you be putting up your vegan, wheat free, toddler friendly, 30 minutes or less blog? I just got home and ate an avocado and I'm still hungry, looks like it's Mary's Gone Crackers and homemade hummus for me again. Fridge is full of produce possibilities, but I'm not feeling inspired to cook, too cold and rainy.

OMG! That really is the face!
  16. Apparently the Tattoo Barbie has caused quite an uproar on Amazon 'Little girls who are still small enough to be playing with dolls are too young to be thinking about whether Barbie should be sporting a sleeve of butterflies or simply have a "I am owned by a man" tramp stamp on her butt..... Mattel could follow up with Litigation Barbie who represents a sorority house full of young women who got HIV by going to cheap Miami tattoo parlor on spring break." BTW, Barbara, were you the inspiration for this doll? http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-N4758-Totally-Stylin-Tattoos/dp/B001NXO1YE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290294461&sr=8-1

Is Tara dead? That would blow. She's a really good actress and her and Jax' relationship is a great part of the show.
  18. Gougetheeyes, you too are also a weiner. What else did you win this week? And PM me your real name, addy, and t-shirt size, K?
  19. Just found this article with pics on "tattooing your kids" Kids names tattooed
  20. I teach on Dec. 7th, but I'd be psyched to try for Dec 8th myself. And maybe we could get Gia and Tammy in on the excitement, too.
  21. MsRad, I just realized that Scott and I can't go, we have a cabin reserved in Steep Ravine that night. I'm not bummed about the cabin, but I am bummed about the conflict.
  22. What is that thing that she's covered up on her hand, was it an octopus? And if so, why would she cover it up, octopus' are cool. And who is she anyway, I don't need to pretend that I know.
