    Hi

Hey Brian, Thanks for joining us! We'd love to see some of your work, no need to be shy. I've been to Athens, it's a great town, I bet your shop does pretty well. What's your shop like? What's the clientelle like? Who are your mentors and sources of inspiration? What type of stuff do you like to do, what do you not like to do? What's the best tattooing advice you've ever gotten? Please post some pics of your favorite stuff, K?
  2. Kevin, you rule! I'm glad you have such a classy clientelle, and you're so lucky to keep getting those referals. That a Notorious B.I.G. lyric, and we all know that attitude didn't help him out so much in the long run, but I guess it's just so damn catchy, who could resist? Keep on sharing Kevin!
  3. Steve, I have a great portrait of Scott and Henry from the day we brought him home from the hospital, it was done by Tim Hendricks. It's definitely one of my favorites, I'm actually planning on getting one of Adeline and the midwife from Tim eventually. Tim's a little hard to track down, but so worth finding! If you're going to the London convention this weekend better get in line now, 'cause he's so in demand that he doesn't even take appointments, you just show up and wait with your fingers crossed. Seriously. Check him out: http://www.saltwatertattoo.com/

    Ben I like your style.
  5. Chad, Thanks for starting this blog. Your list is amazing, most people live their whole lives without making it to a tenth of that many cities. I also love the traveling aspect of tattooing, although i've been pretty sedentary since we've had kids and Scott's gone on trips without me. But its great to know that when they get older we can travel all over the world and have tons of people to visit in other countries. I love to meet Scott's tattooer friends as they roll through town, and I can't wait to see who shows up on my sofa for this upcoming convention.
  6. Great topic Nick! I'm sure Scott would weigh in on this if he could find the time. Today is one of his "days off," so he's currently building tattoo machines at the warehouse. Sometimes I'll drive both kids over there and take him out for coffee, but they're both too cranky and snotty today. He always has his two days off from tattooing filled with other types of work, except when he's watching the kids while I'm teaching. Even then, he's generally trying to get some drawing done. For a while he was leaving a 3rd day of the week unscheduled, and that was the day he would fit in the appointments that had to be moved for one reason or another or for the occasional friend from out of town. Family and social obligations are generally the reason appointments need to be moved, the rest of the world doesn't schedule their parties 3 months in advance, so things come up long after he's been booked. Tammy, one thing that's different about being a tattooer is the hours required, they have to work when other people are off of work, so there are no weekends. I'm hoping as the kids get older he can schedule one weekend day off every other week (A girl can dream, right?) so Scott can come to school/sporting events or whatever the kids have going on. I put both kids to bed by myself every night because he rarely gets home before 9:30, sometimes much later, and then when he does get home, he needs to draw, sometimes until the wee hours. For our family, mornings are the time we're all together. Scott cooks for us, and we generally manage to squeeze in some quality time after we've been properly caffeinated. Everything goes smoother if I make the kids lunches or at least have them planned the night before. (I also have the coffee pot set for 6 am.) We also try to have a regular date night, and to be honest, at least one of us would probably rather stay home when it rolls around, but we're always glad after we've gone out. We are also part of a great babysitting co-op and have a part time nanny/babysitter that's been a godsend as I personally have no family nearby. One thing that I think that's helped with our relationship is that we both support each other and encourage each other to do the things that we each like to do independently or together. Scott will call me and say (in a certain voice) "Um, can I...," and I always say yes, just like he always says yes to me. He works so hard, he deserves to go to all the motorcycle camps and fishing trips in the world. Nick, I know I haven't offered any balancing tips, so I would also love to hear what others have to say. Maybe I'll get all the wives together for the San Jose tattoo convention and we'll brainstorm. Or maybe we'll just bring you more coffee.
  7. Wow, that is awesome! Welcome to LST, would love to hear more of your fabulous stories, but let's not name names! Wouldn't want him coming after the lot of us!
  8. That seems like a really weird placement for a tattoo, but Scott says that long lines of text in odd places is a current fad in the world of tattoo designs for women.
  9. Hi Chad! Glad you're here, Scott said that you gave him a thumbs up on the site and I know he's looking forward to interviewing you. If you post anything, make sure you customize your signature so that it links back to something that will benefit you, K?

    Thanks for joining in,

    Dari Sylvia

  10. Steve, I had a friend get arrested by a cop in LA with full sleeves, she didn't think it was so cool! Wonder if it was the same guy?
  11. Thanks for posting Kevin and welcome to LST! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
  12. 222 Tattoo was a fabulous shop owned by the world renowned Eddy Deutsche. When Eddy decided to close the shop in 2000, it was a great loss to the tattoo community. An astounding amount of great work came out of that shop in a few short years. If you have stories and pictures of work to share from any of those great artists, please do! And yes, Eddy's still tattooing, and you can find out more about him and contact him through his website if you'd like- http://eddydeutsche.com/
  13. Wendy, I sort of have a wedding tattoo, as you know, but I got it in reverse. When I was trying to choose a date to have our wedding, I was on the phone with Wendy, and she was telling me the dates she would have off from work since it was a destination wedding (MAui) and we'd all have to hop on a plane. I chose 11/11 since it was already on my arm, and it's worked out great for me. Lots of people marry the wrong person, lots of people get bad tattoos. If you can pick the right guy, who says you can't pick a great tattoo design to celebrate your union? I don't believe in tattoos being bad luck- make your own luck. I have a portrait of Scott and Henry on my leg, and I'm still rather fond of both of them.
  14. OMG Mario, that poor girl! Such a bummer for everyone, such a bummer that the paramedics sucked. Did you ever hear from any of those people ever again?
  15. Just heard that the Jondix waitlist for tattoos is currently at 14, sorry folks! Seems like you'll have to get your fancy tattoo designs from someone else at the convention!
  16. Beautiful tattoo, beautiful tattoo pictures!
  17. Julio, it's like we're the same person, more or less.
  18. How the hell do you not notice that before it's too late? Seriously, sounds like he deserved it.
  19. Tammy that's disgusting. How do I flag this post? Are you really trying to have your account suspended so quickly?
