  1. Post up a link to the page when you get a chance, I'd love to see it. CG
  2. He may have some tattooing skills... but ram rodding it down the throats of non-artistic pupils is not cool. If I were to see him on the street, I'd cross it to avoid him. CG
  3. Maybe 20 years back, everything was going the way of the single needle outline... and fast forward 20 years... most of that shit is washed out. I don't go with real minute detail in what I get as I like to tan and be outside (do wear a sunblock) all summer. I do have some recent work lined in color, but these are dark colors to start with. This is why the old school stark detail style is so appealing to me. CG
  4. That was through Ticket Master or something like that service. I paid $23 or $24 at the box office. I think there may have been a 2-day deal that was a relative bargain. Not too much was going on by Sunday, I saw some tattooing going on but some of the booths were packed up already by 2-3 PM.If they have it next year, I'll try to go on Friday. CG
  5. Anyone that turns glorified "kitchen magicians" out as bonafide tattoo artists after 2 weeks of training should be beat with a rusty snow shovel. CG
  6. I was supposed to go today but things change. I'm going tomorrow Sunday 7/29 around 2 PM. If anyone is local and wants to meet up, that would be a cool thing. PM me if you want my cell phone #. CG
  7. Definitely worth waiting for and taking your time. I had most of my arm work done when I was 23-26 and it all faded over the years. I'm down to one item that needs to be done, everything else has been freshened up, added to and covered up. CG
  8. If it weren't for Mrs. Dog's abundant set of snack trays, nobody would watch the show. CG - - - Updated - - - Call me a sellout.... I gotta do what brings home the bacon for my family. I deal with people far up the food chain at work every day and I'm expected to act and look like a professional. I pretty much had the same mantra as you when I was driving a tow truck every day. CG
  9. You're on the right track. I like the old school look, but with nicer cleaner artwork. I like to look on tattoo stencil sites to get some ideas, or sketch something up to take to show your artist of choice and let them draw it up. CG
  10. Fark it... the day I retire I'm making an appt for a hand AND neck tattoo. I don't recommend them on young people unless they plan a career working for minimum wage. CG
  11. Everyone here is cool about things, gotta love this forum. CG
  12. My son worked in a restaurant last year into this year and the policy was no facial hair (we ain't even going near menopausal women here...), no visible tattoos. So I have no idea if that could be challenged. We had one guy at work, just hired and one of the bosses bitched him out on the shop floor about his ink... someone suggested he go to HR and lodge a complaint. CG
  13. I now carry cards from the shop that I use and give them out to nurses and anyone that asks about my tattoos.. even had some shop stickers I gave out as well. Never hurts to tout up your shop and send someone to a quailty place. CG - - - Updated - - - Ain't that great? Some idiot always knows of a shop that has a $75/hour rate. Like I believe an idiot with postage-stamp sized tattoos that are at least 25 years old. I always tell people what the going rate is in decent shops. Anyone I send to "my" shop winds up getting treated well. CG
  14. I cover up at work too, probably not a career-killer but it was a decision I made a long time ago. If I had it to do over, I would have gone 3/4 sleeve so I could roll up my sleeves a little. You got plenty of time, work on knowing what you want to do.. when the time is right, you'll know. CG
  15. I forget where I saw it... many years ago. Of course no malice intended against anyone with weight issues. Like I'm a twig myself...
  16. Al Anon or something similar for drugs is a good move. Everyone there is a wealth of experience and nothing you can lay on them will be a surprise. Sometimes you have to put yourself first, to save yourself before you can help anyone else. I had past experience with all sorts of drugs, but always managed to pull myself back together before it got too far. CG
  17. There was a saying, "marry a fat tattooed lady and you'll have heat in the winter, shade in the summer and moving pictures all year round.". CG
  18. I was in a big car accident last year, so I've probably had over 100 visits between doctors, chiropractors, physical therapy and spinal injections. I've added some ink in that time and everyone asks if I have any new work. They're deffo conversation pieces especially since most of mine are fairly new. I'm not big on being face-down on the table either. I'll see if I can do it sitting up in one of those sitting massage chairs maybe. My back started to go into spasm late in the session. CG
  19. Gotta go big with tattoos if you're a big person. I'm 6' and 240 lbs, but am in the gym 3-4 days a week. So I have some mass to me. I'll still probably never do my rib area unless I was down to 210 or lower. I had an older tattoo on my forearm that was basically round. I added some muscle and it got to be more of an oval, so they will stretch. Bigger tattoos spread the stretch over a bigger area and shouldn't be as noticeable. CG
  20. I saw the whole thing and I believed that he got out of the racist community physically, mentally and spiritually. A lot of his actions were fueled by drugs, booze and the arseholes he hung out with. CG
  21. Years ago, I carried all the time and so did my girlfriend. Totally illegal but we lived in a tough area. You would have needed at least a few seconds to assess what was going on. Plus there are civilians in a state of panic all around. I bet there was at least one person carrying there. CG
  22. Pretty effed up.. seems he went into the movie, ducked out the back exit door (blocked it open) and came back in with the goods. So much for a security system at that place! Almost every theater has one, great shortcut to the parking lot for the sane ones among us. CG
  23. I only feel comfy with hypodermics if I'm holding it, but I stopped doing that shit 25 years ago... The acupuncture was okay... I didn't ever get to see any of the needles. They don't come out until I'm face down... I guess. I know I had some in my hands, lower legs and feed and in a V pattern on my back and on my neck. My right hand is puffed up and bruised, but getting back to normal. I was told that might happen. CG
  24. Your mom sounded like mine. Totally there for everyone. Unfortunately she left us when I was 23 and she was 51. Not a good thing, but the experience has numbed me for anyone in my life that has since died. "Uncle so and so died yesterday". Yeah.. what time are the Yankees on... CG
