My wife finished her bachelors degree about a month ago and when she was done, we quickly went and got 2 pair of roller skates and a decent Trek bike to match mine. There's a LONG walking/biking/skating trail near us that we use a lot.
Today, we went to a skating class. We've both skated off and on for years but decided we'd take a few classes to build some real skills. It was GREAT!
Plan for the next year: I boost my skills and find a better job, we go to England (and I visit the Triumph motorcycle plant and join the Bristol Tattoo Club) and then she starts on her library degree...

Milk and Coral snakes are beautiful. They could be incorporated into making a great looking tat.
I had a ball python a while back. I moved and worked a lot so I felt like I neglected her too much so my mother took her. She loves her. My parents also had a Reticulated Python before I was born. It got so big they gave it to the zoo ha.

Nice, @Deb Yarian! This a great interview with great pictures! Family + food + a dash of tattoo - what more could you want?
Thanks for the meatball recipe! :)

Wondering what sort of snake plans @Timbur and @TrixieFaux will go for.
We had a variety of snakes for a while: ball pythons, corn snakes, cal king. The carpet python we had for a while was pretty cool. Pic I found online:

You like Speyside, Highland or Islay scotch?
I like them all but family from Islay explains why I prefer it...

Most of my tattoos are 15 - 20 years old. I just took a photo of my stained glass dragon and then found the original artwork. Man, time flies! And time takes it's toll, too
(Sorry kids. I'm your future, staring you in the face!).
The question becomes - do I find someone to revitalize these antiques taking the chance that they may mess with the original mojo, or do I let the pieces continue to age alongside my fading skin?

    Interesting thread.
I've gotten tattoos from three different artists so far and all were cool, professional folks. Probably the best of the three was not very talkative the first time in but the second time, we had a good yack about kids and stuff.
As others have said, I don't go in expecting to make a new best friend but I would be put off by an arrogant/obnoxious attitude. I'm a programmer and we geeks are stereotypically not very social. But while I don't yack a lot at work and don't see it as part of the job description, I would never treat a client unprofessionally or rudely. Word gets around.

I have no real preference, really depends on my mood as they are all quite different. Right now I am celebrating this weekend tapping into my Tomatin 30 Year Old. Rare for me to touch that stuff! My daily scotches are usually Talisker 10 or Johnny Black (yea yea I know its a blend). Hey you always have to remember to celebrate the small victories. I get reminded of that way to often these days.

I had a hellva weekend, sad it is over. Date on Friday, Saturday was BBQing/drinking all day, then followed by a late night session at Invisible to finish the background on my leg and get a session set up with Matt to get my knee done, Sunday was wake up to black metal and black coffee followed by oh so much more BBQing and drinking. Finishing off today with heavy doses of metal and a smooth single-malt scotch.

I saved a snakes life today.
Poor thing had gotten itself stuck to a piece of adhesive on an ice and water guard for roofing. It got almost it's entire body stuck to it with the exception of the end of its tail and its head. I felt so sorry for it cause I had no way of knowing how long it had been there. So I picked it and the roofing piece up, and walked it over to the hose thinking that maybe the water would help loosen up the grip that the adhesive had on the snakes body. Luckily it did. The snake was suprisingly very cooperative while I ran the water under him and slowly pryed his body from the guard. He even let me hold up his head while I unstuck his neck. After about an hour of carefully working his body loose, I finally freed him. I carried him over to the woods and released him. I picked up all the scrap roofing I could find so he wouldn't get stuck again.
I felt pretty awesome afterwards for being able to help him. I'm such a softie for little creatures :)

How about the YMCA? They're usually reasonably priced and have a nice variety of facilities.
In Summer I bust out the bicycle and roller skates but when it's wet outside it's nice to use the Y's equipment. Even if I'm sick to death of it by Spring...

I can't wrap my brain around guys who are negative about women having tattoos (or doing anything else they want). Life is too short for people to spend so much time/energy trying to manage each others' lives.

I'd avoid an asshole, largely because I don't like giving my hard-earned cash to douche-bags. I've been tattooed by all kinds of types. Some are super friendly and talkative and others are the silent types - and a range in between. All are totally cool with me. Just don't be a dick! I've noticed a really unpleasant trend on instagram recently - some artists have taken to posting pics of their clients, mocking them for being fat or ugly, or generally dissing their choice of tattoos. That's fine, I guess, but I sure wouldn't go to their shop. It strikes me as an odd way to do business, but hey, its their choice.

When I met my wife over 36 years ago I had a couple of tattoos on my forearms and some hand poked tattoos on my hands which I was in the process I having removed. The ones I had on my hands had been done whilst I was in an Approved School in the UK (Reform School as our trans-Atlantic cousins call them. That was a time in my life I wanted to put behind me. My wife was never bothered by my tattoos and had one done while we were still going out on the top of her arm. I have had a few done since, she loves all of them and has had some important input into at least two of my tattoos, design wise. Last year I took the plunge and had a heart & swallow tattoo with my wifes name on it at the London Tattoo convention and when I showed it to her she said "I suppose I'll have to get one done, so a couple of months later she booked in with the same tattooer and had a lovely black and grey tattoo with my name underneath. This month she is going back to get another rose added underneath. So it can put a bit of a dent in the finances but worth every penny.

Funny you should post this, as I was just thinking about something similar this morning.
When I met my wife, I was tattooed, but just tattooed. I had half sleeves, a chest piece, a few things on my legs, etc. She didn't have any tattoos, but loved mine and eventually started getting tattooed herself. She's now about as tattooed as I was when we met.
Now, I'm heavily tattooed, and it occurred to me this morning that it would be weird if I were single and met someone who wasn't tattooed. (Obviously, that's not the only reason I'm glad I'm married!) I think that there's a line that gets crossed when one becomes heavily tattooed. I don't know of anyone with lots of coverage who's with someone who isn't tattooed. It just becomes such a big part of who you are that it's hard to imagine being with someone who isn't at least partially covered.
