    Yep, sounds rough!
  2. I think this pretty well sums up why I still like my bad tattoos. I got them at a time when "fuck it" was kind of my motto, and even if they suck they remind me of that awesome carefree period of time.
  3. @Patrick Bateman Love that skull, the colors are outstanding.
  4. This is a good place to post some existing work, or "latest tattoo lowdown" is always good. There's also a contest thread every month, but its usually good to try and get your entry in early in the month, give it more time to get votes.
  5. Don't see what the big hoorah is, looks alright to me ;)
  6. I know it. Being a trucker I can't avoid running at night sometimes, got this one about 3am. Had just started to snow lightly; watching the road for slick spots I didn't even see the poor bastard come out of the ditch.
  7. For a while, I got about 20ish hours in with one artist. Since then, I've decided im going with one piece per artist; trying to get a good variety going. Not sure if that rule will stick forever, but it's been fun so far!
  8. Unfortunately I became well acquainted with Bambi a few days ago... been stuck in a hotel while the truck is being made road legal. Anyway, I braved the arctic winds to walk a few hundred yards to the bar just now, decided to try McKenzie's Hard Cider on tap, good stuff! Then again, I know jack about cider, but tastes perty good to me!
  9. Also, this. I've never seen any Mike Roper work as far as I know (other than those two suits above that are his, I'm assuming, but those two do kick ass) so sounds like I'm in need of educating!
  10. The tattoo community; where dudes peer pressure other dudes into getting half naked, and nobody bats an eye. :D
  11. Been jammin this song a lot. Kinda have to laugh at my self for the line about "all that shit in your hair" cause it reminds me of the 8 inch mohawk I had for a while, that was every color you could buy at one time or another. Man what a pain in the ass!
  12. I already own one of these, gotta say its very comfy and fits perfectly!
  13. @marley mission I had that problem with them. They were awesome, and I'm thinking of ordering more now that I remember they exist, but it certainly doesn't help that tattoo craving.
  14. Ok edited to make it not so massive, we'll see if that works. Tried to get a head on photo to show the other side as well, but it made it distorted as it wraps around and looked funny. Done by Ellen Murphy at Lombard St Tattoo, Portland. As I said the other day, rad shop, Ellen was awesome, great day all around. Picked off the wall from a Stell sheet, mostly healed now.
  15. Even though that post is 4 years old... im glad you posted that cause I hadn't seen those pictures!
  16. Not only do I agree with Mick totally, but also, 7.5 hours is still a very long session! Definitely no way you should feel ashamed of tapping out there. Edit: also, to answer the original topic, no painkillers for me. I took ibuprofen before, during, and after getting my elbow cap blasted, but that was because I had to go to work an hour after the session and needed to be able to move my arm. It was a shitty day at work! Honestly I think being pilled out would be a very uncomfortable feeling while being tattooed. And I would always feel as if I cheated; that tattoo would be slightly tarnished for me.
  17. There are some folks from the Bay area that will know more, but check out Blackheart Tattoo in SF, FTW tattoo in Oakland, or Idle Hands in SF. Depending on your style of choice, cant go wrong at one of those three shops.
  18. @losParanoyas that lady is awesome. I got a walk in at Lombard St Tattoo in Portland today, from Ellen Murphy. Went in to pick something off the wall, and ended up getting a dagger through a rose, off a Richard Stell sheet. I'll put up a picture when it isn't all gory, but I'm super happy with it, and it was a great experience all around. Very cool shop.
  19. Mkay, so any recommendations on which shops are best for a walk in, traditional tattoo in Portland? I'm going to try Atlas first, but wanted a back up plan if they don't have time. For once I actually have time, spare cash, and am in a spot with good shops!
  20. I don't even know why I read these contest threads anymore. All they do is give me ridiculous tattoo envy.
  21. I agree, cool video, but some of those long feather lines made me wanna cry.
  22. I've been chucking around the idea of a reaper lately, now I know I definitely want one. I also know who I want it from! That thing is awesome @dooktruck
