  1. Amir does pretty good work. Shey used to work with him,and does nice black & grey realistic work if that's the style you want it tattooed. https://www.instagram.com/sheyhafded/

Invoke Tattoo and Art Gallery Wilmington NC tattoo shop is into Illustrative work, and would do a good job with that. She might have more updated photos of her work on facebook,or instagram.

  2. TBI is not the same as PTSD.They are not treated the same way.I have PTSD from two tours in Vietnam.I have been going to therapy, and it helps. That and a little pill.

Yeah I Know..I mentioned it because the Doctor brought a soldier on who was suicidal after coming home from serving, and the guy got his blood work checked for free, and i think it found his hormones/testes levels were low,and he was put on this medication that the Dr.invented and he got better.

  3. Welcome..I would go visit some shops in Chicago and you can maybe have a quick consultation with a few artists to discuss your idea.I always go with the artist i click with the best. You'll be spending some time with this person,so you want to feel comfortable with them.

The vine and flower idea from one side of the body to the other side sounds like it wont look good.I would consider going with a sleeve of flowers and a vine instead.

I was listening to joe rogan podcast and he had the doctor on who specialty is TBI. He has medication to help with that, and was offering free blood work to all vets. His site is @ Traumatic Brain Injury and NFL

Some artists to check out... Ryan Gutekunst | Insight Studios Online

    @Joe Shit help me sir

There's a convention in Novembet, but no artists listed yet.I googled but nothin good came up.

Seems like the kind of place you have to do some digging around town and you might find a hidden gem,but I doubt it.Go to Cuba instead, you'll probably find a dude who does Russian prison style tattoos in his kitchen.

Just wanted to bump this back to the top because Brian David Macneil is impressing me right now and I don't remember seeing his name on here. There are so many lower-profile good tattooers in New England.

He worked in Philly years ago when he was starting out.I believe he went to art school in Italy, and his paintings are impressive. His Japanese work is really good too.

  6. I am not opposed to having multiple artists apply the sleeve, but was concerned that the color consistency may be an issue.....along with extra cost of travel. Maybe I should question some of the artists that I am considering as to the color concern. Thanks for the comments and for the artist names that have been posted here so far, these are just the kind of tattooers I was hoping to see work from.

You can have all three of these guys contribute to a nice sleeve for you.

  7. I am wanting to get a White tail deer tattoo and like this guys style. What do you think of him and is his stlye considered neo traditional?

STAY HUMBLE TATTOO COMPANY - An upscale tattoo establishment - Baltimore, Maryland

Dave does real nice work..I think he does a mix of neo traditional/realism work.Fran who works with Dave also does real nice work. Here's a deer he did in a neo traditional style.

  8. I have a few tattoers in mind, but I am not sure to go with a talented but less known person or someone with a flashy rep. Is it ok to post their names or instagram link here?

The deposits are all non-refundable so I want to confirm if you tattoo aficionados see the style or name is worth it. Honestly, a lot places have not even called or emailed me back except for 1 really high end shop and 1 newbie shop.

    prefer

I've been tattooed by both, and prefer just a good tattooer that is down to earth, and that i click with.A few more to check out..

  10. Hey Dylan every tattoo you get doesn't have to be meaningful.Sometimes you just get tattooed because you like tattoos, regardless if there's a meaning or story behind the tattoo.

I think a koi, dragon, eagle,Panther, roses, would cover that up.I would make an appointment with an artist whose style you like and take it from there.
