  1. So I've now used it on 3 of my 4 recent tattoos and the 1 didn't use it on was the only one that gave me trouble. It might be a coincidence but the fact that it made the first few days much easier is enough reason for me to keep using it. I didn't have to worry about pet hair or sheets sticking to it and was just over all more comfortable.

  2. My question, was it actually a "surface" piercing? Because generally they are defined by barbells through areas of the skin that generally shouldn't be pierced and are almost imminently prone to rejecting (the amount of force and weight the piercing gives to the layers of skin above the barbell are much greater than the skin can generally handle. A regular belly button piercing is a surface piercing, as well as an eyebrow piercing how ever they have a much higher rate to scar/heal to a point in which it will be years before rejection is noticeable.)

    Or was it an anchor?

Surface piercings are usually done with this sort of jewelry and really shouldn't be done with barbells (unlike navel and eyebrow piercings which usually are donw with curved barbells).

Done properly can surface piercings can last years, same with eyebrow and navel piercings.

  3. I am so happy there is a geek thread. :) I just got a tardis tattoo not long ago and I'm trying to decide what else to add to that arm. I'm not sure if I want a DW theme or just scifi. I'm a big Star Trek fan (original & TNG, not the reboot) so maybe the Enterprise? But then I would want to work in Firefly and Alien and my arm isn't that big. lol

  4. Tesseracts, you really don't want to use acrylic for long term use. Here is a great page with lots of info of different materials. Material information & care

And they have a huge selection of barbells and you can get them with gems and various other ends. I personally stick with titanium (I like the copper and teal colors the best). I get most of my jewelry there. :) They also have a calender you can get that has 20% off coupons each month.

  5. I'm afraid this intro is going to be pretty boring. I'm a stay at home mom of 3 and I homeschool my 6 and 11 yr olds (my 16 yr old attends high school). My first tattoos were done when I was 18 and they were pretty shitty, so I'm in the process of getting them covered now, along with adding some new ones. I went 18 years since then without getting anything done and have gotten 3 this year so far. :) I also have more piercings than my husband would probably like, but he's gotten used them them (good thing, because they aren't going anywhere). As far as interests, I am a big horror fan and I love scifi. I've started collecting creepy masks by a local mask maker and I have a decent tarot card collection. We spend a lot of time at local amusements parks during the summer/fall, though I don't ride coasters as much as I used to. I drink way too much coffee and pepsi max and I get far more excited over cupcakes and cherry soda than a grown woman should. I shave my head and people keep trying to talk me into getting it tattooed but I'm a chicken. lol. Oh, and I have a soft spot for animals which explains why we have 5 cats, 2 dogs, and a snake.

    I am done rambling now.
