We'll just disagree on that, then. If you don't care that others can't read it then why get text anyway? Just get a good tattoo that represents it. I'm not implying Helvetica, Courier, Times New Roman, but I've seen some that were supposedly in English that we`re brand new and impossible to figure out. Not including things like copies of hand-written messages from loved ones, of course but I've seen some less legible than my handwriting, and I've printed since high school.

For my wife of 33 years, it came as a shock, I think. She said it didn't seem like "me". Tay, is he trying to digest and accept, or rejecting outright? And is it the design (or placement) or another tattoo in general? Does he have family that this might cause concern with (my wife seems very concerned with aunts/uncles/cousins seeing mine, although she has a nephew with a lot of ink on his legs)? Tattoos aside, this could be an indication of other future differences that could either damage, or perhaps enhance, the relationship. For instance, our nephew's plain-skin wife adjusted to and now loves and is proud of his ink.

From an old man who is a tattooed father, take this for whatever value you see in it.... 'tis better to ask forgiveness than ask permission' is a lie. It's easier - maybe - but not better to 'spring' a new tattoo on your family. And, I'm not suggesting that you need permission, you are old enough to make that decision. But you might find the acceptance easier if they know in advance. For your design, please ask for the font to be legible. Fancy fonts are great for the first letter of a book chapter, but make text a blur of grey even when fresh. So, wishing you the best in this. I know the attitudes of the area (I grew up in South Central KY).

You might be able to buy the "All Natural Tattoo Aftercare" from Vivid Tattoo in Knoxville, TN, but I doubt she would ship it as that would enter into FDA territory. I've been setting it on the LCD TV for about five minutes to soften, apply a border around the tattoo, then spread and rub it in (all after washing with antibacterial foaming soap and a good rinse, air dry). Any shine left, I remove by blotting with a fresh Kleenex tissue. I re-wrapped only for the first night (still leaked and left black ink on the sheets). Kris said he'd rather have me do what has worked for me and I'm comfortable with. BTW, Bepathen ingredients list: Aqua (water), Lanolin (some are allergic), Paraffinum liquidum (mineral oil), petrolatum (Vasoline), Panthenol (Dexpanthenol), Prunus dulcis, Cera alba, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, ozokerite, Glyceryl Oleate, Lanolin alcohol.

Well, couldn't post during - it was on my right forearm and I'm helplessly right-handed. Couldn't post right after - UK was stomping UofL in basketball!! Now home, and it was great. Kris Ford was great, had an awesome idea to punch-up my design, and finished it off in less than 2 1/2 hours. My first time with heavy, dark shading and that was a new level of aggravation! Luckily not alot was needed, and the only break that I needed was to empty my bladder. I'll have to get up and pee every couple hours, I'd imagine. So far, two hours was the longest session (completed) and I was fine. Everyone has their own limit, and health/attitude can mean a lot.

The artist I'm going to this Saturday suggests re-wrapping for three days (cleaning several times each day). My past work has healed very well with a compound that the artist provided - primary ingredients coconut butter and beeswax - applied VERY thin. I don't like the re-wrap idea, but it is a forearm tattoo and it might prevent rubbing against something. I think I'd rather just wear a clean knit long-sleeved shirt over it and use the previous artist's ointment (I have some left). I understand that the artist I'm going to this week is not strict on this, and if you have a preferred method, he is OK as long as it is reasonable.

Your photos here are a bit dark - I'd suggest less processing and more light. 3d is a great idea for viewing tattoos, but most tattoo lovers want to see an honest representation, I believe. If your system can do that and give a great view of the art, you may have a hit. Otherwise, let me suggest you push it on Pinterest and Instagram where most things are prettied up anyway. Also, too bad your app is Apple only. BTW, do you have any tattoos yourself?

I'll probably watch it tomorrow on Xfinity On Demand (have to get SOME good out of the over-priced add-ons I didn't want) and fast-forward through the "crap on the couch".

I had a student this year who said she had a full back piece. She emailed us photos of it. I have to add that I had only seen yours on my tablet until now. Even more awesome on the bigger monitor! Wow! I imagine you could snorkel (leaving the back free in one of those very low-cut back suits - and if you don't have one you MUST get one now!) and have someone else use your camera to shoot a bunch of shots of you. Even if they aren't a good photographer, they are bound to get you in-frame a few times!

Somehow, beautiful, delicate, feminine tattoos are quite bad-ass.

If you can learn all other mediums, you could learn to tattoo well, I'd think. Everything I've read indicates that apprenticeship is the proper way to learn. It took me quite a few months to learn to fish with bait-cast rigs and again with a fly rod. Suddenly it was natural. Tattoo is a fascinating medium because of the canvas and permanence.

Nah, too old to consider full coverage (and some very ugly varicose veins to preclude anything on the calves - which I might have considered otherwise.) There are other things for the cash to go to, also. Gotta think of those retirement years and the money to enjoy them. I'd love to see all 48 lower states by motorcycle. I have a few foreign places on my bucket list, but I want to see all of my home country first. All except big cities. Not a fan of cities. I'll continue to follow and be interested in inked skin, though. Had a ball at the Knoxville Tattoo Convention this year. A lot like a bike show. #1 - stop looking at Pinterest (saying this when I plan to look at it later this morning). Try finding travel photos from Ghana. Internet research is much easier these days. Maybe a tattoo representation of scarification. A good artist can probably even make it look real. A copy of nana's scar? A Google for Ghana tattoo symbols yield a bunch of designs.

I think there is often a personal tie with the artist. This should bring back happy memories for her and I think that leaving the piece unfinished is not only a good thing to remind you of that tie, but also adds an immense amount of story to the piece to treasure and share when you have come to grips with the loss. As for sharing with the wife, why not seek out and ask someone else in the same shop? They would probably know how she has progressed in her grieving.

My faked line idea is just one week away from being permanently placed on my right forearm! Getting so excited! It's like waiting for Christmas morning when I was a kid. Since it is for my right arm, I'll be using my left to handle my tablet (hoping they have wifi), and I'm so right-handed that it will be lucky to get anything to work. My left has a mind of its own.
