  1. truly awesome seesea great story share as well i love the hammerhead - fav sea creature (i will have one inked someday soon) anyway - totally diggin the whole piece edit - where is this gettin done again?
  2. thats a big 'ol dragon - i dig it - let it be and start thinking of your next ink btw - what dont you like - i am assuming that you got to preview the design
  3. i wish i could - i'm guessing these conventions (never been) are probably a blast
  4. broadway tattoo lounge in south amboy and rabbits den in milltown are two i like / use and will continue with both are central jersey though they both have work on facebook
  5. ok i'm gonna be different and say you should be rocking that forearm forest my friend but whatevs - good luck with your cover and enjoy
  6. he thinks the lines look blown out which i dont see myself in the pic but i guess with this type of design you are examining those lines pretty closely it appears the idea was sufficiently captured - whatever that idea is i would kick back - let it heal and enjoy what you got there
  7. thanks seesea def still into - my energy gets spread quite thin these days 3 young ones and work yada yada its a pursuit that rewards dedication like the sign in my old football weight room used to say 'the harder i work the luckier i get' great saying right anyway - OP get us back straight with an update :)
  8. haha...and I didnt know it! in all seriousness i do like writing - anything creative right but i actually did some 'first page sessions' throught the nj childrens book writers group it was a very cool process the first page of your manuscript gets read to a group of peers also going through the process and also to a critique group (industry folks assorted) - its read anonymously and so when the critiques are given they are given to the whole group - no one knows who did what you have opportunities to submit manuscripts post seminar and you get feedback or an offer if you are so lucky i did a few childrens books - picture and chapter the critiques were positive but i didnt 'land a deal' anyway... apologies for the thread derail
  9. i'm a thumbs up on this past episode thought the skull challenge was cool with the blood and the elimination tattoos were mostly ok in my book not that i would have that particular subject tattooed on me also the right artist went home
  10. less is more is my mantra with the healing very curious to see how this looks in coming months obviously like others have said - see the doc see the artist and like i said - hope you stay with it when i had my tattoo go south like this though the consensus was it wasnt my aftercare or the ink it was that i got butchered but i chose not to judge - wouldnt have helped i moved on and trust the processes very much now
  11. stay with it my first tattoo some years ago a similar thing happened i discussed it in a post on a thread somewhere here but anyway i got back on the horse and my experiences have been pretty positive since but you learn as you go i think hope this was just an unlucky event for ya btw - nothing wrong with black and grey pretty much how i like mine
  12. dude bummed for ya cause that last pic taken after your session looks great hang in there
  13. honestly - i'd say nothing if you're itchin for more ink move along to some "fresh" skin area and get on with it btw - i like the spider
  14. awesome - yeah that finish along the river is beautiful - with my type of finish time those last 4 or 5 miles along the river have a thinned out field so you are running with a certain degree of solitude - soaking in all the pain along the river towards the finish is quite a dramatic moment - i feel - despite taking it in alone in your head - its beautiful - so stoked for buddy who is doing it for the first time with me - he's gonna kill it - he's fit and will probably come around the 4 mark anyway - yeah i'm a bit of a free spirit when it comes to training - i'm allergic to plans and just like to be physical outdoors all the time - last winter i was skateboarding most of the time 5 degrees @ 4am - talk exhilarating! so look for a guy about 6'1" with a giant tiki on the outside right calf and a big ram head of the left - its probably me!
  15. yup i'll be there doing the full 1:30? fast half! awesome philly is a blast - cant wait baltimore was tougher than i thought lots of hill honestly - i wasnt thrilled with the course either from an aethetic point of view but no regrets cool experience as always this is my 3rd philly though and i plan to keep on coming back my training is unorthodox i guess i did a bunch of long runs for baltimore but i wont be running again until philly just some road bike and skateboarding i dont follow set plans - kinda just do what i feel like doing which i probably should look at if i want to improve my PR which is a pretty slow 4:53 but i did do three 20 milers prior to b'more also of note is i run in the five fingers - seeya model - ultra minimalist my dream is to do one barefoot but you gotta build that base from zero its easy to rip holes in your feet if you get too ambitious :) been there done that good luck in your race!
  16. i think its cool you'll keep learning as you go but it sounds like you didnt feel the artist was helpful in the process so you may wanna keep looking now you'll be more aware of what you need from them
  17. i dont hate that tattoo at all it just needs to be surrounded by cooler ones :) leave it be find an artist you trust and get on with it
  18. getting the upper chest done last night - only a 2 hour session - hurt pretty good - burning sensation - ah the pain rib shot is next - pain be damned i mean if it hurts it hurts it is a tattoo afterall
  19. little some some on my chest edit: fyi this tattoo gives nod to my mrs. - we honeymooned in stlucia back in '96 - in the tattoo we have the stlucian pitons, their national bird and 3 tiny birds (the children) - but i love the piece as a whole as it represents what i envision as a location of paradise (i'm sure some would agree to holding such imagery as well - anyway...)
