  1. @bloodsport well I really wanna see that first tattoo :) but upper arms are great spots for beginning tattoos easy spot to get tattooed imo chest and inner bicep are also great tattoo spots though both of those spots are a little more painful to get tattooed - not that this should deter you from hitting those spots myself - i have bounced all over the place with my placements - i kind of like trying to balance out my placements anyway - rooster, monkey dragon! sounds like some cool tattoo imagery to me - throw up some pics partner - let us know if you have questions about artists etc
  2. @PinkUnicorn you know what it is for me is that i like almost all tattoos i really do i wouldnt be interested in getting a design like this but its simple and readable and i like those qualities in a tattoo
  3. call me crazy but i dont hate designs like this
  4. its funny though how someone could come to this forum and the best they can do to contribute is rip on Jack Rudy - goodbye in advance
  5. @Reed yeah wasnt sure what kind of wait list chris had - I've never been tattooed by him but I have been tattooed at the Immortal shop in Clinton a few times by Jamie Sawyer - like I said though - he did a whole sleeve - color - Marvel themed - on this local guy - when I first saw it it was several years healed and it looked amazing in person - I believe he does mostly black and grey now - and as you can see on his IG he seems pretty comfortable with that type of tattooing - I've also heard he's a super guy from my friend and Jamie - anyway - good luck - remember - whoever you choose - the wait list part should be last on your list of factors - especially when you have such a detailed piece in mind - enjoy
  6. come to jersey - this guy will do your idea justice i have seen his healed color work in person and its awesome http://instagram.com/chrisadamek
  7. just read through this thread the other night - it's a good read - cool stories - I wish we had more active threads like this so before you scream "zombie" - give it a look...enjoy
  8. you're not gonna know cost until you talk to an artist finding the right artist should be your first priority then discuss your budget with said artist and go from there
  9. Todd bumped me up a week to 8/22 @ Redemption - high noon appt - much better for the same turn around back to jersey
  10. well your boat tattoo is already upside down so you want the coverup to also be upside down? i'm confused by your post a little bit and it kinda sounds like you're not really sure what you want and where you want it - maybe stick around a bit and organize your ideas before charging ahead
  11. @DabHand welcome - nice intro - agree the interviews are the best - you on the IG - would love to check out your work
  12. @TattooloverRS you're trying to get other people to pay for your tattoos - you're an idiot oh - but welcome as well
  13. a little alternative line of thinking for backpieces - why do they have to be one flowing symmetrical concept? my favorite backpiece I have come across....not mine btw
  14. blastovers when done correctly...awesome look
  15. i think that sticker look your struggling with is the freshly applied hairless aspects of what new tattoos look like on IG, internet, etc it wont look like a sticker for long - it'll look like its a part of you and your skin - because it will be this thread has certainly got some legs to it - i have enjoyed the discussions and checking out some of the artwork on the artist IGs though not the style i seek - there are some great looking tattoos out there in this style
  16. sometimes we forget that getting tattooed involves a little leap of faith in the outcome a little bit of balls if you will shit can happen even with great tattooers lines can blowout some ink might dropout you could scab and scar fall off your skateboard get bit by a dog struck by lightening so in the end - you do your research get your tattoo and move on with your life time, skin, cash permitting you do that shit again and again
  17. @Tiresius hey good luck - found Thys on IG you'll notice here that most of us favor some form of traditional tattooing but hey whatever works for you - how is some of that no outline watercolor stuff gonna age on YOU - hey only one way to find out right - anyway - our tastes tend to evolve as we get deeper into this thing so keep an open mind and enjoy
  18. @Tiresius so who'd you book in with i enjoyed checking out the work being done by those tattooers you identified in your original post i say if you want to get some funky watercolor design then get it dont worry about 20 years, 10 years - listen - you're only promised today - so go get your tattoo and enjoy it - who knows where your tattoo journey will take you - you may end up becoming attracted to a variety of styles and designs - who knows good luck - keep us posted now go get tattooed!
  19. i did last week for a short period - like a day or two - been good since
  20. @Graeme absolutely the experience level helps - i enjoy talking tattos with tattooers as well - or just sometimes listening as tattooers talk to each other at this point - when i get tattooed - most of the time tattooers want to see what i have and talk about what they have which is quite fun this is why i think its crazy that someone would want to wear headphones while getting tattooed - you're missing all the good stories
  21. i dont put on anything except sunscreen as neeeded
