awesome - yeah that finish along the river is beautiful - with my type of finish time those last 4 or 5 miles along the river have a thinned out field so you are running with a certain degree of solitude - soaking in all the pain along the river towards the finish is quite a dramatic moment - i feel - despite taking it in alone in your head - its beautiful - so stoked for buddy who is doing it for the first time with me - he's gonna kill it - he's fit and will probably come around the 4 mark
anyway - yeah i'm a bit of a free spirit when it comes to training - i'm allergic to plans and just like to be physical outdoors all the time - last winter i was skateboarding most of the time 5 degrees @ 4am - talk exhilarating!
so look for a guy about 6'1" with a giant tiki on the outside right calf and a big ram head of the left - its probably me!
-
yup i'll be there
doing the full
1:30? fast half! awesome
philly is a blast - cant wait
baltimore was tougher than i thought
lots of hill
honestly - i wasnt thrilled with the course either
from an aethetic point of view
but no regrets cool experience as always
this is my 3rd philly though
and i plan to keep on coming back
my training is unorthodox i guess
i did a bunch of long runs for baltimore
but i wont be running again until philly
just some road bike and skateboarding
i dont follow set plans - kinda just do what i feel like doing
which i probably should look at if i want to improve my PR
which is a pretty slow 4:53
but i did do three 20 milers prior to b'more
also of note is i run in the five fingers - seeya model - ultra minimalist
my dream is to do one barefoot but you gotta build that base from zero
its easy to rip holes in your feet if you get too ambitious :)
been there done that
good luck in your race!

PinkUnicorn I think your completly right, I do need to find someone who will work with my ideas and not just copy the pictures. We have a tattoo artist called aurora near where I live she has a brilliant reputation and about an 8 month waiting list!
Marley mission, so you don't think this will end up on the worst tattoo forum? It may grow on me as it heals I did only get the changes done yesterday! It has totally not put me off getting anymore They will just be better thought out!
i think its cool
you'll keep learning as you go
but it sounds like you didnt feel the artist was helpful in the process
so you may wanna keep looking
now you'll be more aware of what you need from them
-
i dont hate that tattoo at all
it just needs to be surrounded by cooler ones :)
leave it be
find an artist you trust
and get on with it

getting the upper chest done last night - only a 2 hour session - hurt pretty good - burning sensation - ah the pain
rib shot is next - pain be damned
i mean if it hurts it hurts
it is a tattoo afterall
-
little some some on my chest
edit: fyi this tattoo gives nod to my mrs. - we honeymooned in stlucia back in '96 - in the tattoo we have the stlucian pitons, their national bird and 3 tiny birds (the children) - but i love the piece as a whole as it represents what i envision as a location of paradise (i'm sure some would agree to holding such imagery as well - anyway...)
-
cool cool tatt
-
i'm headed this way next - i wish i was in better shape though
i drink six packs instead of wearing one
but meh - i want a rib shot
i have plenty of weird ass ideas to discuss with my artist
-
hmmm...i think this whole thread is a joke
flowergirl - who are you really - pulling our leg
well - if you are 'real' - just get some more tatts already and enjoy the ride
-
i think you are misunderstanding the feedback here - there isnt anything that can be done with that tattoo
so folks are just being real with you
also - people are correct in saying that you will need to get over it
and you will
i also believe that if you get into getting tattoos
and get more tattoos - your perspective will totally change
you will be able to appreciate the imperfection of it all
which in turn lets you appreciate the specialness of it all
little story - i got my first tattoo about 5 or 6 years ago
a small cartoon tattoo - plankton from spongebob
hey hey don't judge ;)
anyway - it got infected - i lost skin
it got scarred
and became of scarred blur of color
this was on my calf - my only tattoo
for all the world to see
so i said to myself - ok - tattoos are obviously not for me
i get a tattoo and look what happens
my friends affectionately referred to said tattoo as my tattastrophe
it was embarrassing but i dont mind laughing at myself so whatevs
well a year goes by and i felt like i still wanted to get tattooed
so i find a guy to do a cover of this scarred mess with a bob marley tattoo
he tells me ok but says with how bad the scarring is the cover might come out 'so-so'
and it did come out 'so-so' - you can still see the 'ghost' of plankton
but hey - it was better than it was imo - so i'm living with it
so what happens next to this bermuda triangle on my calf - i get attacked by a pitbull
long story - need a diff thread
so now i have - on my calf - a bob marley covering a scarred plankton with missing ink from said dog bites
check my gallery - there is a pic :)
so what did i do - i kept getting tattooed - and i love it
i dont worry about imperfections
or if something doesnt heal right - i got some of those too
i got weird tatts, funny tatts
i love getting tattoos - i like how it feels - i like the way a tattoo shop smells
and sounds
so long story over - i hope you stay with it
get more tatts
and just wait and see - this might end up being your favorite one day
not cause its perfect - but because it was the start of a journey
-
blowout is same thing as ink migration but like others say - dont sweat it
the solution you ask...more tattoos!

Good news : finished my right pec.
Bad news : now I have to take a few days out of the gym.
Happy this piece is done, but the few days off always suck and I didn't plan this one in a good deload time.
remember you'll probably be benefitting from the extra days off you wouldnt have normally given yourself
-
i think i like tattoo nightmares better than inkmaster this season - the 'reenactments' are classic
-

very nice topic - loved the reads so far - i want to organize my thoughts on this topic but dont think i'm there yet
it made me realize i'm not completely sure why i started and keep getting tattooed
but i'm sure enjoying the ride
anyway - carry on...
-
i actually dig the lion
-
love your work - some fun cool tattoos imo
