  1. I recently spent a few weeks in Japan visiting some of my family who is in the Military. That country is amazing. I mostly stayed around the Yokouska/Yokohama area, and had a wonderful time. Only regret is not climbing Fuji, but seeing it from the base was incredible.

A few years ago I also volunteered in Lima, Peru for a couple of weeks. I mostly worked out of a school in the district of Villa El Salvador where I painted a few school rooms, and sat in on some classes and helped out the kids and shit. Also, I broke edge in Peru which was awesome. The rest of my mornings in Peru were miserable, and now I really love drinking.

  2. I think traveling is a great quality behind a tattoo artist. Not just statewide, I mean like global travel. Also, the internet has played a huge part in choosing a great artist. Its so easy for them to get their work out for people to see... But I just like some one who likes to joke around and is serious enough to do a good job, but likes to have fun...

I feel like I'm editing a match.com profile right now.

  3. Oakland, CA:

Taqueria El Gordo (Trailer on 42nd and International)

Brown Sugar Kitchen (Great soul food/breakfast's)

Blue Bottle Coffee (Probably some of the best coffee in the SFBA)

Genova's Deli (Awesome Italian deli... just a little pricey)

Nation's Giant Burger (Fucking awesome/cheap breakfasts, and incredible burgers)

Bakesale Betty's (Fresh chicken sandwiches, pies, and cookies)

Fat Slice Pizza (Cheap Pizza in Berkeley)

Taqueria La Gualalajara(SP?) Great 1.10 tacos in San Leandro.

Red Buffalo Wings (New hot wings in West Oakland... really good)

Any BBQ place in East Oakland is good...

  4. I have "Rise Above" tattooed on my ankles (I know...) I was 17, and working at Applebee's. The cook in the back started showing me pictures of Tattoos he had done on some of his buddies, and to be honest, they weren't that bad. Also, I should mention that he was a Sureño, and most of his tattoo's were gang related. Me being a complete fucking idiot, asked him to do my "Rise Above" tattoo. Long story short... the tattoo is spelt right, but the "Rise" is about an inch higher than the "Above"... So the rise is literally rising above. The lettering is terrible, but what should I expect.
