  1. I know for me, deciding to get a half-sleeve marked the point in time where I decided I was going to be a tattooed person rather than a person with tattoos. I'm curious if others - particularly other tattooed women - had this experience - that of knowing that they were committing to being a "tattooed person."

I think that phrase says so much to so many here. When we combine a growing love of our tattoos with a dose of "fuck it, I don't care what people think", well, you know the rest of the story. bigg.gif

  2. Hello and welcome!

Yes, we always like tattoo pictures here. :)

I'm a firm believer in Sani/Tegaderm use when during a multi-session piece I switched from the old ointment method to Saniderm and enjoyed a huge difference in comfort, healing time, and overall ease. It protects the tattoo from outside infection sources while healing from the inside. After a few hours, I remove the wrap from the artist and use Saniderm, then replace it 12-16 hours later with a new wrap for the following 5 days.

  3. Is that the Flying Tigers as in the American volunteer pilots in China ca WWII? I'm not familiar with their logos and such, but that's pretty sweet design.

Yep, that is the old AVG tiger. I've always liked it. The tattoo turned out better than the original design. I'll post it when past the 5 day period.

  5. I own my own business (a restaurant) and I allow my employees to show their tattoos and piercings. Firstly, I think it adds to the vibe of the place, and secondly, I've got them myself.

My whole working life I've worked in countless shitty operations who force their employees to become personality-less drones in the name of "professionalism". I always swore that customers actually don't give a shit about their server's body art as long as their food and service are great- and guess what? I'm right. No one has ever said a thing about them.

    That's cool.

Just don't make them wear 14 or more pieces of "flair".

  6. That my company doesn't ship my job to India. We're not supposed to know that our managers are looking into this extremely stupid possibility. You should never outsource critical IT security to another country, especially the city of Chennai, which is still recovering from massive flooding from a month ago.

  7. we actually had the airing of grievances at work today it was kinda funny and mostly cathartic. Lol

After 4 years of having to see the guy across from me pick and eat his boogers every time I turn my head, I decided to record it for proof's sake in case there is a justifiable homicide investigation on me!

Imagine seeing this EVERY time you turn your head or leave your desk. #puke #biohazard #killmenow

  8. Well I can't think of any imagery to help me not doubt myself, but the phrase just seems to stick to me. And I agree with suburban Xcore. Your body is your body and no tattoo is off limits

The only thing I would stress at this point is for you to be sure of what you want (while considering the future) and to get what you like, not what others may like.

  9. yep I agree with all the above.

"don't doubt" comes across as a double negative, when the text would be better flipped to a positive.

I think just text can work if it's so ornate it almost becomes an image in itself, or in a banner below an image.

personally I think an image to symbolise the OCD would be a far wiser choice! I assume that one day you want to overcome the OCD and looking down at an awesome artwork on your arm and thinking about how your are now more decisive, confident, have more conviction etc will be way better that looking at a line of text which tells you off and may no longer even be relevant. @AverageJer is right, you can assign meaning to anything so look at imagery (tattoos, books, art, wildlife, sculpture, whatever) and see what you are drawn to or keep coming back to and the meaning will fall into place.

Perhaps "believe in yourself" would be more useful?
