Hello and welcome!
You certainly have a natural talent. I especially like your black and grey day of the dead girl. Like anything worth devoting yourself to, tattooing is an ongoing learning process.

Hello and welcome!
Lucky you, to have so many great artists in NYC. Feel free to post some photos of what you have.

A blended or transitioning gray wash with light blue could look beautiful.

My hats off to the Destroyer Navy - REAL Navy men!
My dad was a radar/radio operator in the Navy during Korea. He sailed on a few WWII tin can destroyers, one named the USS Boyd or DD-544. They supported the Missouri's “Cobra” patrols with shore bombardment of enemy supply routes.
He had photos of the ship's rigging all covered in ice and brought home several cool things from Japan, like an engraved coffee table, a 3-stringed shamisen, a hand made metal wallet with an engraved 5 dollar bill on the outside, newspapers, plus plenty of stories. We lost most of it in a fire, including the little business cards Japanese boys would hand the sailors for the local bordellos.
The crew would play practical jokes on each other and also had a dare game called, "If you don't do _____, you ain't got a hair on your ass". They would climb ever higher up the superstructure to dive from when stuck on-board in a port until one of the guys almost died.

Nice job, Isotope. I can see the moisture and mandatory pink ring, so it must be some damn fine brisket. My grandfather (passed away at 94 last year) was a brisket master. He was a Czech from Shiner, TX. We were lucky to have him so long, and his BBQ set the bar pretty high. I've traveled all over and ate at Kansas City's famous BBQ places, but they never came close to what I've had in Texas.
Damn, now I'm hungry!

Hello and welcome.
Wow, 25 sittings in just a few years? You've been busy! Feel free to share photos.

Ciao and welcome!
+1 on what el twe said. I don't believe any time spent on finalizing the art for your tattoo is wasted time, even if nothing develops. Minutes or hours are nothing compared to having something that doesn't work or you dislake on your skin for the rest of your life.
I know you would be disappointed if you and your artist can't agree on something, but go into this with confidence in them and with an open mind, then decide or collaborate on any alterations.

Hello and welcome!
I like the new half sleeve you got in the photos. I'm guessing it is Polynesian since I don't really know much about the differences in tribal.

pretty cool ! I love it,placement is perfect too.
My earlier reply got attached to the wrong post. Take 2:
Thanks, it turned out pretty cool. Her nose is a little long and the foot looks a bit wonky (Japanese style?).
I'll get a photo of the right side to show how he used negative space between this and ol' Tigger (you can see his ear at the upper right).

How about Saturday the 14th? :p (that was a cheesy farce movie, right?)
Since I can never open the "Latest tattoo lowdown" thread on any PC or with any browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome) I'll have to post my Saturday tattoo here.
Bomber nose art pinups have always been really cool looking to me. I had Waylon Hart create one for me and he did even more than I expected with her Japanese leg sleeve, plus the clouds and lightning.
One day old between changing the wrapping. Her skin colors will soften after healing.

I wasn't expecting the pain I encountered Saturday when my shin was under the needle. I have plenty of shin injuries from the BMX days so maybe that didn't help. The side of the knee was almost as bad.
My artist was super happy that I didn't move once during the 4 hours.

OK, how cool is this? Waylon sent this email last night:
I am really excited about the Tattoo you are allowing me to give you. This email is to let you know that I have drawn more than what you've asked. Mostly because you seem very serious about wanting great tattoos and because I like giving everything I have when given the opportunity. I badly want to send you a picture of your design but feel the wait til Saturday is better for me so that I can see the look on your face.
I have drawn it with some background and an extra surprise that I'm sure you will love.
Can not wait til saturday.

Hello and welcome.
Hey, that's Mr. Misfit to you, sir!

Yeah, been looking at it all day. This is going to be fun. It is only about 10 min from my apartment. I knew I was close but did not think I was that close.
I'd love to go, but I've already spent my money on the next tattoo. I'll gladly go the Elm Street for a traditional tattoo sometime in the next year or two.

Three days until I get the WW2 bomber pinup gal on my outer calf by a local artist, Waylon Hart (Chariot Tattoo).
I haven't seen the artwork yet, but he'll be creating something loosely based on this:
- marley mission and sophistre

Have you been to Nobi Public House, yet?
I had to look it up just now and saw the location. Now I know why that parking lot was so packed this weekend when we drove by. The ratings are really high so I'll have to see how the food is.
Thanks for the heads up!

OK, not a movie but a TV series, "Blindspot". I haven't watched it but might later if it isn't just another cop show.
Anyone here like/dislike it?
