  1. I have a drawer full of plain white Hanes t-shirts that look like the back half is tie-dyed.
  2. Finally got over some gnarly hip and back issues and decided to start bicycling for the exercise. All I need is a single speed cruiser with coaster brakes. I picked up this 70's era Murray Le Mans in excellent condition yesterday for a measly $70.00. Last evening was the first time I've been on a bike in 32 years! Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  3. I really enjoyed that article. It got me thinking about just how many tattoos on me came from flash. My first tattoo in 1985 was from flash. I remember telling the tattooer the number written next to the design I wanted, like "A14" or something like that and he pulls a manilla envelope out of a file cabinet and gets the coresponding acetate stencil out and soon afterward he went to work on me. My fathers one and only tattoo that he got in 1954 is from flash in a tattoo shop outside Ft. Bragg, N.C. I got the same tattoo last year because I was able to find the same design on a sheet of Sailor Jerry flash. The style of artwork on well executed flash is what I've automatically associated with what a tattoo should look like since I was a kid.

Thank you! I've added a couple more ROA pics as there's been quite a bit more progress. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  5. I second that, but really, you can't go wrong with a snake tattoo. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  6. @WeRnDoG that thing is truly epic, and yeah, that lower back... I can certainly sympathize! Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  7. @Dan S That thing is AWESOME!!! I laughed so hard my coffee just shot out of my nose! Made my morning. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  8. ^^^ Wow, just fuckin' WOW... Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  9. Im in the Dr's office right now knowing I'm gonna get cortisone injections in both hip joints and I'm quaking in my Vans right now. I hate getting shots. :( Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  10. It's far from finished, and there's far to go yet, but here's a picture of the progress on my backpiece. This is after three sessions and a total of 10.5 hours of tattooing.
  11. I got this last night. I swore I was not getting any more tattoos before I finished the ROA back piece, but dammit! this was just too good to pass up on. It sprang from an idea I had about funny stuff you could get tattooed. It was the most fun time I've ever had getting tattooed. There were lot's of funny, raunchy stories told while this was done. Artwork and tattoo were done by Paul Pearson at Tried & True Tattoo in Smyrna Tn. MEAT CURTAINS!!! On my thigh.
  12. Male, 46yrs old, 5' 9.5", 145lbs. I've been the exact same size since I was 18. Always told I was too skinny. I didn't get to choose this body or this face, but I got to choose how to decorate it. I'm perfectly happy with it now!

@MGblues. Just a few pics for now.
  14. Dammit!! They're doing an unplugged show tomorrow at a local radio station, then a sold out show in Nashville on Thursday. I found out today. Sonovabitch!!!
  15. I'd posted this in the latest tattoo lowdown thread, but it ought to go here. This is mine right after the 1st session on June 30th. Tattooed by Paul Pearson at Tried and True Tattoo in Smyrna Tn. I was leaning a little to the right, but you can get the jest of it.
  16. The good thing is that I only have one lower back and I don't have to go through that ever again!
  17. No spare tire on me, but yes ...a bitch.
  18. Cuz the 101st tattoo was shitty!!! And, for all the ladies with the tramp stamp... You have earned my respect! That shit is fucking unreal!
  19. Been a while since I last posted, but yesterday I finally, finally, finally got to start my ROA backpiece. First session finished and the main part of the outline is done! I meant to get started on this tattoo at the 1st of April, but got sidelined with some back and hip issues. It's a crappy cellphone pic and I wasn't exactly standing up straight, but you can get the general jest of it. The ribs and lower back portion hurt like Hell, but it was well worth it. I'm pretty stoked about it. Tattooed by Paul Pearson at Tried & True Tattoo in Smyrna Tn. (and there's a cover-up of an old 101st Airborne tattoo going on in there too).
  20. An '07 Gibson SG Special, an '08 Gibson SG Classic (P-90s) plugged straight into an Egnater Tweaker 15W head and an old Epiphphone 1x12 cabinet. All I need to piss off all my neighbors.
  21. Yup,a tiny black widow spider, with a"13" where the hour glass would be. On my thumb.
