If you aren't wanting any more Disney characters, then maybe think of something else bright and fun (thinking of that sleeve you posted, I think that is what you were linking.. the bright colours??)
If you are set on having a balloon, just get a balloon tattoo and make it its own. Something bright and fun? I don't know...
But definitely discuss it all with the artist.
Maybe leave it for now and do what Marley Mission said and get something else somewhere else. After a while an idea might come to you on what else to put with Goofy

    i like the goofy tattoo
i have my share of questionable content :) in my tattoos
but i also feel like ...do you really wanna build a whole sleeve around a tattoo thats....well...goofy -- no offense
why the need to add to it
like... why not get another tattoo somewhere elsewhere on your body
    and go from there

Pretty much every time he opened his mouth.
Hibbard was created and encouraged by the producers- believe it.
For Nunez to call him out re: "real" tattooers implies that he (Nunez) isn't selling out tattooing as well. But hey. S'long as the check clears, right?

I completely agree. I don't even care who reads this, I think that dude is a talking dickhead. Like obviously both Oliver and Chris are well-versed and talented tattooers, but I think the crucial difference between the two is that Oliver is pretty comfortable in his position, whereas I feel that Chris is always kind of pushing it in your face and the finale was a fantastic example of that.

I think that Nunez made an absolute ass out of himself on the finale.

@agadan93 not gonna judge the content here of what you are looking to do but my main thought is that this discussion is really for you and a tattoo artist to have - contuning to debate along this thread serves no point really imo

I am not really sure about half a body on a cloud ... I'd reconsider and build out a sleeve. I'm not really into Disney, but if that's what you like, build it out with more characters.

    Ciao e benvenuto sul forum!
I'm from Trieste and will get a tattoo from Dane at Inkamatic studio in like a month. I'm usper excited about it!
I think that around the goofy image you should do something totally different like a mandala or an asian pattern in order to create a background to that tattoo.

Ciao e benvenuto da Palermo :D.

Starting from your tattoo, I'd do a cartoon/Disney arm, probably getting several different characters I like and then tying them together with filler tattoos/background when there's no space left for decent size pieces. That's if you're going for a cohesive sleeve look. I don't actually mind separate smallish tattoos on the arm either, it's really up to your personal preference.

I don't think I've posted this here--Todd Noble made this lady in a rose a couple months ago.  I really enjoyed getting this tattoo; he has a good bedside manner and just seems like an all-around good human.  I can't get an un-distorted photo of this but you get the idea.

I guess it is a cultural thing because every artist I know would much prefer a cash tip than a "gift," especially if you don't know them very well. *shrug*

I've usually given a cash tip.
Only one artist I've seen more than once I gave a gift.  To which I've given him 2 tattoo machines, custom made business cards with his info on it and a personalized zippo on different occasions.
With regards to to gifts, how bout a bottle of alcohol or business cards custom made with his info on it?

The sharpies sound like a nice idea since they are useful and hard to find as you say. I would plan to cash tip on top though.....i have given a gift once but my standard large tip was also offered and accepted at the same time. My gift was maple syrup, since I live where it is made and cheaply available but costs a fortune where the tattoo was done.

I love giving gifts and they've always been well received (Since I'm in the USA I'll tip on top of the gift). Typically I'll only give gifts to tattooers I've seen a few times and have a good rapport with, or if I have a pretty good handle on what they'd like. Things I've given:
    -Lots of records
-Documentary on the underground music scene in my area
-Prints that weren't tattoo related but would be up their alley (Haida stuff from western Canada...the real-deal stuff, not the tourist-trap stuff)
    -Booze
-Food: my wife and I have brought home-made pies, cookies, even chili once...
As they say, it's the thought that counts. If it's genuine and you're stoked on it, chances are they will be too even if it's not a perfect match. Don't overthink it. If it gets too convoluted, remember that Cash is King.

@ChrisvK Claudio Romeo from Palermo, or mr_rom3o on insta (hope he's not reading here lol). I'm not sure if he's planning to be guesting anywhere soon (they just opened the studio in the end of last year and he seems pretty busy), but I really like your idea!
@bladezzz thank you! I get what you mean about personal tastes, but given my poor knowledge on anything alcohol related I'm happy to go with any safe(ish) bet. Btw as someone who does not drink and whose husband (who does not drink either) often gets gifted bottles of wine or spirits, we're surprisingly happy to receive this kind of gifts from time to time since it saves us the trouble of buying, and especially choosing, drinks we to offer guests ;).

Depends a bit on the (his) taste but a Highland Park 12 year or Bowmore 12 year are reasonably priced (30 - 40 eur. in Europe) and (almost) everybody likes them.
