  1. I got tattooed today, pretty heavy solid black and I currently have my tattoo wrapped up. I've re-wrapped it a couple of times already, the second time I noticed part of my wrist has become wrinkled like after a bath and it's still bleeding under the wrap even though it's been 5-6 hours since the session ended. Is this a scab that's forming or something like that? Is it normal at all? It's never happened to me before but I've never had such solid black either. Sorry if there's a thread on this topic, I couldn't find one so I thought I'd ask about it.
  2. I just spoke with someone who told me about a tattoo removal cream called Tatt Off or something like that. The guy told me his sister has been using it for 5-6 weeks and her tattoo has already faded a bit. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of that method of tattoo removal, it sounds a bit too good to be true.
  3. Just saw Signatures of the Soul posted on TAM's site so here it is. That's my evening entertainment for today sorted. Signatures of the Soul - Tattooing Today - Television | NZ On Screen
  4. I booked my sleeve 9 months ago and finally it's almost finished, just one session left in a couple of weeks. However, I'm usually way more impatient when it comes to waiting for the tattoo to heal after each session, it's driving me nuts.
  5. I found this pretty interesting publication on gang tattoos and their meanings so I thought I'd share it for those of you who are interested in that sort of stuff. Lots of photos in it, some of them actually made me think I should start this thread in the Worst tattoo EVER! section. Anyway, here's the link - http://info.publicintelligence.net/CBSA-TattooHandbook.pdf
  6. I'm really considering doing a little trip to Germany to get tattooed by Gerhard Wiesbeck - Gerhard Wiesbeck | Facebook his gallery on facebook is mind blowing, I'm not sure how well known he is but I didn't find his name mentioned on this board. He does a lot of blackwork and patternwork but manages to keep some sort of an organic feel to his designs which I really like and prefer to the strictly geometrical stuff that seems to be quite fashionable at the moment. Also I'm getting a sleeve by Amanda Ruby at the moment, she's getting some recognition I guess, she might be featured in the second volume of Black Tattoo Art, here's her facebook pages - Amanda Ruby | Facebook Amanda Ruby Tattooist - Local Business - Folkestone, United Kingdom | Facebook
  7. I've never trained any martial arts myself, as far as I can remember I've only been to one martial arts lesson and I was just sitting there and watching while waiting for my friend who was training there, and the trainer was exactly like the guy in the video.
  8. I definitely prefer custom tattoos so what I do is I research and find an artist whose style I like and then I might show them pics of tattoos they've done before and explain what I like about them, then give the artist the freedom to come up with something based on a few very general ideas I've given them. For me the style of the tattoo is definitely more crucial than the actual design, especially with big tattoos where you simply can't plan every little detail.
  9. this is hilarious just saw it in Raoul van Noorden's album
  10. I'm finishing my sleeve in a month and around September/October I'd be looking to start my back. I'm really looking forward to the summer this year because I'm sick of the cold weather but I also wish it was the end of summer already so I can begin my backpiece.
  11. swastikas. this is really the wrong thread for that stuff though.
  12. I'll definitely be watching the show, it's like a reality TV version of the Worst tattoo EVER! section on this forum.
  13. if you ever get bored with your tattoos I suggest you just get some more. seriously though, I've never had that problem myself, I've never perceived tattoos as something you 'wear' and more as something that's part of your body, especially when it comes to good tribal tattoos which can be very organic so to speak.
  14. as far as healing goes I use Bepanthene, it's a nappy cream and you can find it in any shop, even Tesco I think. tattoos heal super fast with it, it doesnt take more than 10 days usually but it depends on the person's skin I guess.
  15. hah, that tiny hole is the dude's belly button I guess, if you look closer you can see how someone cut part of his belly and pants and pasted it over the girl's face, very subtle.
  16. oh well, I guess that's the end of this thread then.
  17. So what do people think is an acceptable tip, both from a client's and an artist's point of view. Also, would you tip after each session for a big tattoo which would take numerous sessions, would that influence the size of the tip, etc.
  18. Curly is pretty awesome, as well as both those guys in the pics.
  19. yeah, I like how it doesn't close in his face so to say. same goes for neck tattoos, I hate it when they look like the person is wearing a permanent turtleneck.
  20. can someone show good examples of face tattoos? we've all seen plenty of bad ones but I'm curious what people would consider a good facial tattoo.
