I've been wanting this for years and as it's my first, my expectations were probably not realistic. But I still love it and really liked the artist, too.

I appreciate your insight and candor.

Based on the threads posted here by newbies, a lot of artist do a terrible job educating their clients.

My artist told me early on to look at the big picture. I love my tattoos and I never look at them under a microscope.

  2. Don't look at it under a microscope. Seriously. No tattoo is perfect. Your skin isn't a piece of paper. There's nothing wrong with that tattoo, but I would seriously evaluate your expectations. I don't mean this in an unkind way, but if you are expecting perfection, don't get any more tattoos because you'll never achieve it. Step back and look at the big picture, you have a nice tattoo, I'd just enjoy it.

  3. At 5 weeks, that's long enough to know if it's a blowout or not. I don't see it myself, but once you see it you can't unsee it. It's a nice looking tattoo, I'd just enjoy it. Trying to fix blowouts makes them worse often as not. The ink is under the skin, you can't move it or take it out, you can only try to cover it up.

So most of the tattoos I have are black and grey. My arms are sorta a traditional black and grey style and my back is a super dark realistic piece. My chest is also a traditional style black and grey and my stomach is lettering.

So most of my stuff is black and grey, but I kinda like color, do you think it would be weird to now start doing my sides and legs in a neo traditional style?

People do it all the time. Get what YOU like, it’s your body.

Hogrider, the OP said he would stop over-moisturizing and you posted a snarky reply. How do you expect him to respond? Knock it off. That was uncalled for.

Are you a new moderator? I didn't think so. Maybe you think that 14 posts in a year and a half gives you the right to set rules for the forum?

Read what was written, "Kept finding conflicting stuff online regarding keeping it moisturised" Not sure how that translates into some kind of reasoning that he should drown it.

Also, there is a handy ignore feature on this forum. If you don't like my posts, please feel free to use it.

Good, neither have I. I said I'd found conflicting things online regarding keeping it moisturised. I thought this was a forum to discuss tattoos and as a newbie to tattoos I've come on here for a bit of advice, if you've nothing better to do than sending condescending replies, don't bother.

No need to cop an attitude. You posted something ridiculous and got called on it.

My question was regarding certain elements of colours for coloured tattoos being banned as per the EU regulation at the beginning of this year - not just all tattoos in general.

Yes, I read about it. There isn’t a single scientific study that supports that. It’s the same ink that’s used in America. I’ll say again, if there was anything toxic about that ink, with 66 MILLION tattooed people in America, we’d know.

Hey bro, how is the tatoo looking now?

Sadly I’m having the same experience, could you please let me know how did u solve this issue and how is looking now? 🙏🏼01765001-81BB-4979-AC67-5173A4573CDF.thumb.jpeg.e1a6beda103e55577a05e2fe320f2691.jpeg

Like @oboogie said, you’re drowning that poor tattoo. You are supposed to use just enough moisturizer to keep it from drying out, too little is better than too much. Or you could just dry heal, as @oboogie recommended. At this point, I’d give it at least one day with NOTHING on it.

    ^this.

Way more important to find an artist who is totally capable of nailing an exceptionally fine line and simple (read: impossible to hide mistakes) drawing like you're currently interested in.

Great advice. People think “it’s just a simple tattoo, it’s anyone can do it” when the reality is, as you pointed out, there’s no way to hide mistakes.

  11. I would just get what you like and not worry about what other people are going to think. They won't mean anything to other people, it's only important what they mean to you, if you're into that. None of my tattoos mean anything to me other than I like the images.
