  1. Welcome to LST. there are tons of great artists in New York who are more than capable of putting on a beautiful peony. The first few shops that come to mind are Invisible, Adorned, Three Kings, Kings Ave, and Saved. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
  2. just received this DVD and i'm currently getting paid to watch/listen to it on my laptop at work. i'm only 30min in and already inundated with information from Mr. Don Ed Hardy.
  3. our goal is to grow and learn. this is just the next step in your personal evolution. you've found the right place. stick with LST and keep learning.
  4. welcome to LST and to the world of being a tattooed person! It sounds like your experience so far has already triggered you to self-assess a bit. Perhaps there has always been a tsunami inside of you and this external change has magnified it or forced you to pay attention to it. Now you get to learn to control and harness it. Check out this short, yet meaningful thread, if you haven't already: https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/5645-cool-stuff-youve-learnedgotten-intoetc-thanks-to-getting-tattooed/?page=1
  5. i'm not sure if these falls into the "Do Not" section of the LST Guidelines, https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/guidelines/ I'd say, if that shop posts an opening for a shop assistant... apply! it doesn't matter how much you wanna work at the shop if they don't need you. in the meantime, keep getting tattooed there!
  6. i like the idea of having images representing song lyrics instead of having the lyrics themselves that said, i also have "imagine" in John Lennon's handwriting on my wrist.
  7. I debated whether to hold off submitting until almost 12/20 or start off with a bang. I obviously decided on the latter, but I'm still excited to see all the entries!
  8. Finished this just in time! Chad Koeplinger and Jondix.
  9. Que Sera Sera with my gypsi girl by Jill Bonny 2008.
  10. My pup passed away back in June. Last Sunday, Jeff Rassier just so happened to have some time available for walk-ins, so I went and got his tiny tatt version of Huckleberry on my wrist. None of my tattoos has made me smile more! I don't think there are enough loved animal tattoos in this thread or perhaps I just haven't skimmed it in a while. Post 'em if ya got 'em!
  11. nice! feel free to share a photo your tattoo from him in the appropriate thread, if you're so inclined. misery loves company. if all these folks can handle it, then you can too! just a matter of testing your will and overcoming. also looking forward to you sharing your experience in a few weeks!.. and, of course, we all love ogling pictures!
  12. welcome, @Sonnyboi_STHL. sounds cool, but be aware of the LST guidelines https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/guidelines/
  13. welcome, @scottyg! congrats on going for the back! you've found the right place for advice. best thing i could say is to skim thru this thread from the beginning. there's a lot of great advice from some of the LST veterans and even some well known tattooers who no longer post here. there's many treasures to be found among these here threads. you have good reason to be nervous. it's going to hurt like hell. but it'll all be worth it in the end! who's doing your back?
  14. it was there... i saw it on Raking Light Projects IG post. i'm lucky no one picked it up at that time! he has some amazing art that's much different than his tattooing. He has a book out, called Inward, that's available thru Tattoo Life Magazine http://www.tattoolifemagazine.com/bookthomashooper/ and I also recently found out he keeps his website up to date, which is pretty rare in this age of FB and IG... https://thomashooperart.com/ my favorite post has all the backgrounds used for the "The Traveler" print. pretty great stuff. the short little video on this link is also damn cool https://meditationsinatrament.com/2016/09/21/the-traveler/
  15. @Dani forgot to check LST for this thread prior to the convention, so i missed this opportunity. perhaps next year! @Gingerninja easy to have good taste at the Bay Area Convention. great artists and amazing tattoos any way you turn. One last pic. Andrew from Raking Light Projects talked me into picking this one up from Thomas Hooper... I just had to convince the wifey. You can see it hanging at his booth in the prior set of pics.
  16. i captured this dude's most painful tattoo(s) of his life, administered by Thomas Hooper...
  17. I could be wrong, but i believe the only difference is the cover/binding... leather vs linen. The website doesn't really say the difference. i went back and forth before finally purchasing the special edition because i thought it was the only one that came with the prints. then it was later posted on IG that both editions come with the prints!
  18. @Killercook76be sure to include the tattoo artist name & tattoo shop with your photo/post. strange.. missed it. please delete/ignore!
