  1. My right bicep is healing nicely. We'll have a few places to touch up, but I'm ready to do the next part! June 30 seems too far away.
  2. You've got yourself a good one there. Really happy for you. I'm always a little nervous about portraits. I can think of maybe one guy I'd let do a portrait on me, and I will get one from him one of these days — Chris Jones from Physical Graffiti in Cardiff. He's going to do a Johnny Cash portrait tattoo on me. I've talked to him about it after we became friends on Facebook. Anyway, WOO HOO! Over the moon for you!
  3. LOVE! It's JUST PERFECT!!! You must be thrilled. I'm thrilled for you!
  4. I order from Body Art Forms. They are great. I always go with titanium.

    Hi - Again!

Oh, wow! I can't wait to see it once you get started. Love that.
  6. Very nice owl. You should add stuff around it (Meaning: Get more tattoos!)
  7. Reviving this old thread. Thinking about getting a lighthouse on the back of one of my calves after I finish my half sleeve at the end of this month. Tell me about and show me your lighthouse tattoos.
  8. Thanks, @Synesthesia and @Devious6. Baffled by her response, so appreciate your chiming in. Ho hum. Takes all kinds, I s'pose.

    Hi - Again!

Hi, Neil! I'm pretty new here. It is nice to meet you. I look forward to photos of your back piece! What are you planning on?
  10. I love Freddie! Now I really can't wait to see it!
  11. Who is your favorite singer? Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
  12. I don't know what to tell you. You made a comment. I replied. If you don't like responses on your comments, you probably shouldn't post comments. Just try and relax a bit. My point is this: Smaller pieces are usually paid by the piece. Larger pieces are by the hour. That's just a fact.
  13. Uh. I'm not singling you out? No idea what you're on about. You're pretty new to tattoos. Maybe try and chill a tiny bit?
  14. Of course you need to know how much money to bring. I'm talking about asking how much a piece costs for shopping around purposes. That's just crass. You get what you pay for.

    Hello

Welcome! I think it is pretty easy to tie together different styles. I look forward to seeing your tattoo collection as you progress, @kitti! I love the one on your back. Very cool.
  16. I've tried taking a photo of the tattoo on the back of my neck, and it only took me 533 tries to get it right. I know it isn't easy!
  17. You can absolutely say what you know from your experience getting two relatively small tattoos. It's over pretty quick, so yeah. They don't hurt nearly as much. I'd like to see your tattoos. That's what we do here — share photos of tattoos. Don't be shy. :-)
  18. I didn't say you didn't know pain. I said you don't know what getting a large, multiple-session, hours-long tattoo feels like — therefore you can't say tattoos don't hurt. That's all. I lived with shredded ligaments in my right ankle for about two years before doctors figured out what was going on. Had to have surgery, too. You're right — that shit does hurt.
  19. I have lots of piercings, too. Large, extensive tattoos and lengthy sessions still hurt. You have two small ones. You'll know pain when you actually get a large tattoo. And no, the one you're talking about getting on your thigh isn't large. I have no idea how you can possibly get all the detail required in a phoenix into a 5 by 6 tattoo, but I'm guessing your artist will discuss that with you. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with. Have you posted any photos of your first two tattoos? Don't remember seeing them.
  20. Big tattoos generally don't work that way. Most artists charge by the hour for large work. You've only gotten a couple of small pieces thus far, so that's why you're paying by the piece.
  21. I have half sleeves on both arms, and the bicep is excruciating. You don't know anything about pain if you haven't had large tattoos. Sorry. You just don't. @Synesthesia is 100% right.
  22. "People with tattoos" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue with ease — hence the phrase tattoo collector. ;-)
  23. So you are an deeply disturbed and crass asshole! Got it. Thanks for the clarification! Bye now!
