This makes me feel a little less alone. I really like my new tattoo (posted it here) but it was my first time letting a tattooer freehand it, which I wasn't expecting, and its size is kinda tripping me out. He did let me check it out beforehand, but it was hard for me to visualize how it would translate...and for all my other tattoos with stencils, I've never changed anything, just let the tattooers do their thing. My thinking is that it'll turn out better when they are given creative license, and I'm not an artist so I'm probably not going to have better ideas than they will. It's everything I asked him to do - Japanese style, blackwork, with whip shading, above the elbow - but every time I glance at my arm I'm like HOLY SHIT THAT'S A LOT OF INK. I also had a family emergency happen while I was getting tattooed - mom was blowing up the phone while I was under the needle - and I spent the evening crying on the couch afterwards.
This all just happened yesterday, I'm hoping that when the negative feelings about life stuff blow over I'll get used to it :) it really is a beautiful piece of art, I love the little details and the linework and unique shading, etc. And three different tattooers in the shop came over to peek at the work and all of them commented that they love how it fills my arm. I hear people regret getting too small of tattoos more often than too big ones!
Your new tattoo is beautiful. I'm sorry about the family emergency, but seriously, your tattoo is stunning.

Yea iIknow it's going to be a huge tattoo, that's why I was thinking my whole thigh so I could show people and hide it. My friend told me to get it on my back. Yea I don't think he was meaning gay like actually being gay, more of that's gay dude like girls get tattoos there. Thanks for the response.
Your thigh isn't big enough, and it won't look right wrapping around. Back or chest.

Awesome! What are you gonna put on the forearm?
Some kind of black and grey floral design, I think. Need to decide for sure.

I'd love to go! Not sure it'll be possible, but I'll look into it.

A lot of the artists on Ink Master can't draw, so maybe he is working with one of those?
Whatever. It appears he isn't coming back. He took his toys and went home. Probably for the best.

Also, what's with the hostility? Are you pissed off because we don't like your designs, or are you always this irrational and angry?

Bless your heart.

I do not know where to start. You are definitely in the wrong place. Head on over to Big Tattoo Planet and see how it goes down over there.

He didn't design it. But thanks for assuming. He just said it might get lost in translation. So I was seeking thoughts and what not. Wasn't looking to harvest asshole opinions. So since you can't be constructive, move on.
You might be in the wrong place. Hahaha. These designs are not particularly good, and your "top tattooer" isn't so top if he is going to tattoo this shit on you.

I was going to post this in 'aftercare', but for some reason the site wouldn't allow me to, even though I've already posted in 'initiation' previously. So, apologies for the placement :)
I was wondering if anyone has had success using Argan oil in place of unscented lotion? I believe the lotion is clogging my pores, even though I've been very careful about how much I apply. I've tried both tattoo-goo lotion (not the wax), which worked well for the whole second week, and Equate unscented. At the first small bump, I switched from the goo to Equate and cut back... but then even more little pimples cropped up, so I've stopped moisturizing altogether and have just been washing it (once a day or as needed). It's looking a little dry, so I was thinking about giving it one more day to breathe, and then using a tad of argan oil, which is very light and is not supposed to clog pores (I use it on my face and it's amazing). I was wondering if y'all think that's a good idea, or if it'd be better to just leave it dry? I'm assuming at this point my tattoo is going to be pretty much okay, either way, but it is my first, so I thought I'd double-check here just to be safe.
Anyway, thanks!
Just a heads-up—you have to post ten times before you can create a new thread anywhere other than Initiation. :-)
Agree with @Synesthesia; just leave it. Do nothing.

What @SStu said. Don't put anything on it. Just leave it.

1. Why
2. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate that
You think he'd appreciate you coming here to "improve" on his design? You're going about all this the wrong way. "The best in the biz"? Really? Then tell us who.

Back from our trip to Helsingor! I'll post a photo when I'm healed. I cannot say enough GREAT things about Henning and the crew at Royal. One of the most perfect days, ever!!
I need details, please! Looked like an amazing trip. :-)

You're on the road to an infection. Go see your doctor.
Also, holy hell, that person was heavy-handed.

Me, I'd totally be on my way to the doctor! @oboogie
SAME. I have had an infected tattoo due to a bad reaction to a particular ink. I had to get an antibiotic shot in the ass, my doctor was so worried. THIS? This would have scared the shit outta me. WHAT IS IT?

It looks odd like this. Spread it all out and make four different tattoos—there is nothing cohesive about this.
Tattoo 1 month off. Shows browning and dryness. Is it normal?
